Yea, there is no escaping it. The CIA, or NSA will spy no matter what you do.
I think people understand this, and are more interested in keeping the corporations, and private entities away.

Or better, get a T470. Cheaper, more upgradability at cost of a bit more weight.

Maki a shit.
I have been monitoring this site all morning on request by a colleague who brought your community to my attention, and I am astonished by the amount casual racism and hate of foreigners discussed about its threads. E.g., referring to all Indians as "Pajeet." (For the record, this is also my name which makes it personally hateful.)
To clear up misconceptions and outright deceits a lot many of you have:
YES, I, like others, came to these states LEGALLY under the H-1B program.
YES, I provide a knowledge and ability LACKING in your country; hence, my visa to HELP you.
Technology is an amazing force which should be harnessed to bring the world's people together, not divide us.
Be rest assured: you are on the WRONG side of the industry if you continue down this path. And I see why so many of your careers begin now to suffer.
>>60127845
fuck off with your shitposting
>>60127845
Nice bait. Pajeet is a made up meme name, no one is actually called that.

Us here at the FBI can't disclose that sort of information to you.
>contains a web server and a QR code generator in PID 0
>uses hardcoded Google DNS as fallback
>changes rapidly with no documentation
>some "regular bugs" were later discovered to allow trivial elevation of privilege
Just stop thinking about it and trust Red Hat like a good goy.

So do you have to be good at math to be a programmer?
Obvious bait. Don't respond, sage and move on.

Why did you reply?
>>60127490
Not really, unless you need to do something that actually requires the application of mathematics, like graphics and a large portion of real world applications

ahhh c'mon you know what i mean
It depends on the price, as always.
But seems OK. For some decent gaming at 1080p
So I just bought few days ago Asus Gl553vd and now I cannot charge it at all..
I tried holding reset for 30seconds, also tried charger on different laptop(works).
Is there something I can do before sending it for warranty repairs?
I could not find soultion on google so I thought of Anons here.
Anybody can help?

Does it work without battery connected?
>>60126723
It does not work at all- with or without it, sadly
>>60126723
Update, misunderstood:
To be honest I do not know how to pull out battery without loosing warranty for it..
What does/g/ think of partitioning?
Yes/No, why/why not?
Thinking of partitioning my data collection on my 8TB HDD for better organization (1TB for music, 1TB for tv/movies/anime, 1TB for programs, etc.). My HDD is already about 50% full
>making a partition for music, a separate partition for videos, and another separate partition for "programs"
that sounds fucking retarded
One for system
One for home
One for storage/everything else
Anything else and you're missing the point
>>60126666
>Partitioning disks to store media formats separately
>Who would have even thought of that? It's beyond retardiation.
>...

Oh, everythings sums up now.
I want to ditch forever Windows for Ubuntu GNOME (because Unity is dead) but I feel pretty worried about how my life can be without it.
Most of my software is open source and avaiable for Linux too, I'm only afraid of data loss on my external hard drive.
Do someone experienced some data loss or some weird shit? I've got a custom Intel build from 2014 and an X230, so I think it will be good for compatibility.
I'll miss this software if i switch to Linux:
Musicbee
Office suite, but I only use it for simple things.
mp3tag
sharex
afterburner
tpfancontrol
"Muh" games, but I want to stop gaming so it's good.
Can someone help me to make this jump? I used Ubuntu since 12.04 LTS so i'm a little experienced.
TL;DR: I want to ditch Windows to Ubuntu Gnome.

I assume Clementine will be a fine replacement.

WPS and Libre are just fine. I used those even when I was on Windows.
>games
25% of steam's library is available on Linux, you'll be fine. Out of all the games I play only Warcraft 3, WoW and UT04 are windows exclusive. Use Humblebundle, GOG and Steam as your gaymin sources.
Data loss is easy to prevent. Move all your shit onto a seperate HDD or partition and leave it be when installing your OS. Linux installation will make it's own partitions and leave yours intact.
My Nexus 5 is downloading something called Instant Apps all on it's own. Anyone know what this is? I didn't ask for it to do this.
