Does anyone understand the specifics of lossless compression?
I understand what it does but not how it does it.

Essentially it's taking a hash file from a torrent and turning it into the source file with no errors. Hard but not impossible.
>>
Which specific lossless encoding algorithm do you not understand?

I can trivially explain to you how something like Huffman encoding does lossless compression.

What's the best value mobile music player that I can buy? My iPhone is in a waterproof case that has a really annoying 3 inch adaptor that needs to be used in order to connect a standard aux cable.

Specifications: Interface with iTunes (preferable), at least 30 GB (less, if that is unreasonable) of storage space, easy access aux port, small profile (I will be keeping this in my lab coat, unless in use or charging). Compatibility with Mac is beneficial.

It's not the BSD thread but you retards have no arguments for why BSD is actually bad except
>muh drivers

Ironically that's the same argument winfags use.
Really makes you think.

There is any way to keep using online XP in safe ways?

I have a 512mb ram machine I want to use as a chink cartoon/lurking/VN/2D games machine and loonix can't fill 2/4 of that tasks and 512 is too low for win 7

>inb4 how to chink cartuns with shit machine

The computer itself is one of those pre c2d dual core with some gts gpu so it CAN play 1080p video just fine

What yhe fuck is XP posready?

Can I even use a updated browser?

Build one out of an old car seat imho
>>
>>60123062
As someone who also hated the idea of "gaming" chairs, after going through several typical office chairs I finally caved. I reluctantly bought a "gaming" chair, and it's actually quite good. Yeah, it stands out too much, but if it's staying at home, the extra features and comfort are worth the look, and gaming-tax.

If you really don't want to consider one, and I don't blame you, this is your best option >>60123730. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy a mesh chair like you posted, or a fake leather one. They'll tear and degrade after less than two years. Also don't buy Staples chairs. My last chair was a Staples Poynter, and the back collapsed while I was leaning back. Two tiny L-brackets connect the back to the seat, and they sheared after two years of use.

tl;dr: You get what you pay for. The gaming-tax does tend to come with better build quality, at the expense of professional aesthetics. Mesh bad. Fake leather bad. Cloth good. Real leather good. Custom best.

Let's have a thought experiment /g/.

The Acer Predator 21x is a laptop with the following specs:

>21" 2560 x 1080 IPS LCD screen
>i7-7820HK 2.9 ghz CPU
>2x Nvidia GTX 1080 GPUs
>64gb of DDR4 RAM
>2x 512gb PCI SSD

It weighs 20 lbs and costs $9000. That's a lot of money. What kind of laptop acn you build on your own with that kind of money? Can you build something equivalent for less?

There are many low profile and low power consumption desktop components available, as well as frameless monitors to work with. Cases can be ordered from plastic and metalworking companies. Again, $9000 is a lot of money to work with.

So what would you start with?

>20 lbs
>21" screen
Nigga this ain't a laptop anymore.

Also battery life will be super dogshit, maybe like 10 minutes of gaymen assuming a huge 100Wh battery was crammed inside.

I think the best course to go with the display will to be buying a 21" IPS monitor and decasing it. This is done in the arcade an pinball hobby sometimes and they seem to have good success with it. An open frame monitor is another possibility, but it looks like it would be about twice the cost.

One you have the monitor out of the case you'd need to build your own with hinges and find a way to run your cables through.

Did somebody here used that "Brave" browser? It's based on Chromium and have a built-in ad-block. Sounds cool but it's eating up my CPU, lags every time I switch tabs.

Slow as fuck in my limited experience. I'd rather use anything else.

Just started using it and its working great for me, about 1/2 the ram usage of Opera @170mb and barely any CPU usage ~1% No slowness at all. Only complaint is the UI.

I am using it right now on Windows 8.1 and so far so good.
