I've been looking for a recent phone with FM radio. I used to have one in the Alcatel OneTouch Icon but it was 3G. In my search I came across this
theverge.com/2017/2/16/14636508/ajit-pai-smartphone-fm-radio-activation
>Though it’s not well known, most smartphones include an FM radio that would be capable of receiving and streaming local stations. In the United States, the majority of these are disabled — Pai says that as of last fall, only 44 percent of the “top-selling smartphones” in the US had activated FM radios, compared to 80 percent in Mexico.
It goes on to say that the choice to disable the FM chips is because it would cut into carrier data profits and other sales like iTunes.
Does /g/ have an FM enabled phone and use it?
It's pretty much the deciding factor in my next phone purchase.

Has a list of some recent phones with enabled FM. I tried the NextRadio app that's suggested and it seems that while my phone has an FM chip, it is disabled. It then led me to
http://freeradioonmyphone.org/
where it encourages people to contact carriers, Congress and the FCC.
My unlocked OnePlus X has great FM radio

I use the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact which I got second hand off Amazon. I don't regret it. The only thing that pisses me off about is it that the back button is on the left. I like using my phone in my right hand and that's a stretch for my thumb. Whatever. It has a metal shell, FM radio and it's still getting updates.
here's mine
from left to right, i've got a piece of shit acer running ubuntu server, gatewat nv53 with ubuntu mate and windows 10, thinkpad t520 with mint (soon to be new os), and some shitty hp with slackware

>Microsoft phone revenue fell to $5m last quarter, from $1.4bn two years ago
>According to the company's 10-Q filing to the SEC for Q3 FY2015, its phone hardware revenue for that quarter totalled $1.397 billion. One year later, in its 10-Q for Q3 FY2016, Microsoft said that phone revenue had fallen by $662 million, reducing it to $735 million.
>Today, as Microsoft published its earnings report for Q3 FY2017, it revealed that its "Phone revenue declined $730 million". Based on its earlier financial disclosures, that means the company's phone hardware revenue fell to just $5 million for the entire quarter ending March 31, 2017.

and?
why does /g/ prefer dark themes?
They hurt you eyes less when you spend countless hours staring at a screen, especially in the dark. Plus, they look nice.
Easier on the eyes, and uses less battery on AMOLED screens.

This
It's also higher contrast which is nicer

because the government decided that you are not allowed to print your own money.
>>60150182
But it's wrong right? Just like "stealing" copies of software isn't legal, even though it doesn't do any harm?
If you were allowed to do this, what would be the point of getting money?
Why would you ever work? Why would you want money for your product? What would money be worth? What do you think you could produce to replace worthless money?

Poor people develop an emotional attachment to their electronics in order to numb the reality of them being outdated and obsolete.

As expected from microsoft, but this doesn't matter, their fanboys will scream to the four winds that windows IS the gaming system and that microsoft's priority are gamers anyway when in fact is just another PR move.
