You can only use your rooted phone without gapps if you are a basement dweller and doesnt leave your moms home. How do you use uber or uber like apps without maps? MANY apps just dont work because they need google stuff. Prove me wrong

I just caved to a normie life of bloatware google on my first android device after failing to sink enough time into learning flashing roms. Getting unlimited bootloops and bullshit 5-step process easily turned into 40 step process. Fuck it, I'm too old for this shit.

I guess I'll have to get a job now and have to wear clothes and whatever else normies do

You're a fucking child if you base your opinion of software on the language in which it is written, ignoring functionality.

Portage is by far the best package manager I've ever used.

Is it safer to type passwords every time or make the browser remember them (I don't want to use a password manager)?

Are (really) long passwords unnecessary since brute-forcing or dictionary attacks require decent hardware and time (most hackers probably use phishing)?

I use passwords always under 20 characters in length and over 9 with decent complexity like numbers, letters uppercase+lowercase and symbols.
I also should change them every now and then but aint nobody got time fo dat and I'm too lazy.
I'm thinking it shouldn't be a big problem though since I only register to really big websites like Google and Facebook that have (I believe decent security) and it's unlikely
that my info will get leaked in a database somewhere.

Can somebody educate me further about password security?
Isn't keeping your email address secret important too? To avoid phishing?

Also where should I look too see if my info got leaked like password and email.

Make your password as long as you can and use lots of symbols. Try to avoid complete words and do not start your password with an uppercase letter. Try not to use numbers or lowrecase letters as the last two characters.

And stop using Facebook & Google

>do not start your password with an uppercase letter. Try not to use numbers or lowrecase letters as the last two characters.

I can understand the first part but can you explain this?
>>

Why should I even use a very large password?

Even a short one but over 10 is enough if someone uses numbers, upper+lowercase letters and symbols.

/homeserver/ thread.
Thank you everyone that gave me advice last thread. This is my final build. Arrives next week.

Decided I'll use it for more than just storage. Anything I'm missing? I realize the cabinet is big, but I literally could not find an 8U~12U enclosure that had a depth of 30''+ which supported a weigh load of 300lbs or more. The smaller enclosures seem to all be wall mounts.

I question how much that front door is going to allow ventilation. Most racks have mesh doors.

The PSUs will be obnoxiously loud in the SC847, you'll want to look in to the SuperQuiet PSUs

And that SSD is a retarded choice if you're using it for caching. You'll want a enterprise class disk that actually has decent write endurance. If you're going to poorfag it look on servethehome's forums in their great deals section for used enterprise class SSDs.

>LEDs
wow you're a faggot

Also if you dont care about your power bill get 2 smaller servers instead so you can do things like run S2D or whatever the faggy linux version is so you dont lose access to your data if a server goes offline.
>>
>>62297943
Also those HGST disks arent actual enterprise class disks. Their nonrecoverable error rates are 10^14 when they should be 10^15 or better

https://www.hgst.com/sites/default/files/resources/DS_NAS_spec.pdf

You can find used 7K4000 Ultrastars for less and they're actually enterprise class.

>I question how much that front door is going to allow ventilation
Reviews didn't say anything negative as far as I know. It has a mesh ceiling
https://sysracks.com/catalog/sysracks-srf/18u-39-depth-it-telecom-cabinet-srf-18-6-10/#prettyPhoto

>The PSUs will be obnoxiously loud in the SC847
That's fine, since it'll be in a separate room.

>And that SSD is a retarded choice if you're using it for caching
I see. It was $89 so I figured why not. What about an M2 vs enterprise SSD's?

>wow you're a faggot
What is so bad about having a little ambient lighting jesus.

>if you dont care about your power bill
I care about it

>You can find used 7K4000 Ultrastars for less and they're actually enterprise class.
Thanks

The only thing that I've actually ordered is the server, so I can still swap the HDDs out.

Why hasn't any credible competitor come to YouTube yet, The entire thing is turning to shit because they don't care now since there isn't anywhere else to go, DailyMotion doesn't have the same quantity of content creators

Because it has no audience, because there is no content.

Such cases.
