If someone invented a linguistics studying web crawler for the sole purpose of gaining statistics by scanning and determining the average IQ of an internet community through their posts and uploads those stats online, what IQ range do you think 4chan as whole would be listed as?
472
80-90
You can't make a meaningful determination of IQ from grade level of the words they use.
/g/ explain this logic that ppl want fucking live tv again, i understand the whole marketing meme of taking something away only to offer it again later and seem great (See any annual video game series) but this is just retarted.
the entire point of cordcutting was for the on-demand aspect, not watching live, there is no such thing as "live" programming that is already produced and people already have spoken in droves that waiting to watch it on-demand without commercials was more appealing than watching it "live" (aka first on tv)
ps dont tell me this is for /tv/, we all know tv doesnt actually discuss logical things except thinly veiled fap threads about actresses
You can't really openly endorse piracy of TV shows because not everything's on netflix, you know?
I thought youtube TV was literally just airing traditional cable and local TV stations through the internet?
>>60334951
there's nothing being pirated, netflix/hulu ect.. legally offer all the shows just on-demand
now they're all trying to offer "live tv" again which is fucking retarded and the exact opposite reason people cut their cords but there are zero articles actually discussing this fact
also most places offer these barebones 20-30 channels for the same price anyways and higher quality since a 1Mb/s (average 1080p internet stream) cant compare to 8-9Mb/s which cable uses for its signals
i get shit in the mail all the time to re-add cable to my charter service and would come with like 200 channels for 30-40 bucks and a DVR
this shit aint even on par with that
Can anybody tell me why fax is still alive? I know this is relative old technology. Are habits so strong?
Nips
Some places have laws that government agencies can only accept mailed or faxed documents from long before the internet and no one bothered to change them.
Because it's the easiest way to send documents and have them printed on the spot.
Public institutions need this a lot.
After 4 years of loyal service trusty s2 died, im think of buying the pixel. Opinions.?
Pixel is basically the iphoneshit of the android world, no SD card slot or removal battery, no wireless charging, the thing isn't even water resistant and applel has that. It's junk.
i'd say yes for copperhead os, but having used an s2 until now you clearly don't care about anything,, so buy one of the better phones in that price range.
Is there a reliable speech to text software for Linux? Alternatively, is there one for use online? Google isn't much of a help here.
>>60334769
Bump. I wanna know too.

https://text-to-speech-demo.mybluemix.net
Best free (and natural sounding) text to speech online program I've used so far. The only thing is that you can't use as many words as you want. After a certain amount of words it gives an error when you convert it to speech.
Last time I googled it, there weren't. Especially not reliable. People just launch Dragon (not sure if remember correctly) in VM.
ITT: /g/ products with no electronic components.

What is the purpose of this """technology"""?
>>60334713
>Regular on the go usage of a $700+ slab of metal and glass with no potrusions for grip
It adds a protrusion for grip.
>>60334687
>Bumper thickness and size is perfect for fingers to grab on to
how?
Old thread: >>60327260
What are you working on, /g/?
>>60334610
First for Null-terminated Byte Arrays
I looked at a bunch of assemblers like MASM and FASM and GASM and they include lots of macro facilities that resemble C, like syntactic sugar for loops and functions and stuff.
Does that mean C is a macroassembler?
I might be getting my hands on a Sun SPARC workstation (from around 2008 I think) for free. Are the newer SPARC CPUs viable for anything or is it just slow, hot trash? I plan to install loonix on it and use it as a shitposting box. Also SPARC general I guess.
>>60334593
mmm, seems like you got your answer, have a free bump anyway OP
>>60334593
I don't think they made any Ultras into 2008, but if they did it would be probably fine for 90% of tasks you could concoct within reason for such a system.
I'd rather run Solaris 10 or BSD on one. Linux is boring, any shitty PC can do that.
>>60334593
Big endian linux is terrible, I have a G5 quad and it was a pain to get 3D working.
How much time until I can install the Gentoo Windows App, /g/?
I use it everyday, call me a winfag. All I need now is for windows to support GUI applications from linux.
About Gentoo in windows, code & compile it yourself

So i have a triboot computer and can run alll three operating systems does this make me the doctor?
Fuchsia will BTFO of Android and GNU/Linux.
prove me wrong.
>>60334452
>Gnu/Linux superseded
>Just use GNU/Fuchsia
>Everyone still just calls it Linux
The thing that makes me think Fuchsia won't succeed at that is it will likely have a stable API for drivers, which means most of the drivers will be closed.

My friend just gave me his old panasonic surround sound system. Its the first time i've ever had a surround sound setup, and I've got all the settings to my liking except for one. Theres an option when i hit settings on the remote labeled MAIN + SAP, and i can change it to either that, just MAIN, or just SAP. I can hear a slight difference between them but im not exactly sure what the difference is.
plz
>>60334323
SAP is the second audio program and there may not be a difference except as perceived as a small change in db.
>>6033691
The main purpose is to offer dual language or descriptive audio for the blind
Why does Windows 10 suck so bad?
It's been 30 years and Microshaft can't get their shit together.
>>60334220
something happened
imo the most infuriating thing is how they can force you to wait for it to install updates on shutdown
>>60334397
That's not even the worst part. They make giant mistakes such as Windows 8 and then 8.1.
As if it's run by Poo in Loos.
