Why is Windows not POSIX compliant? Arguably one of the greatest tragedy in OS history.
POSIX is a gigantic meme bro

is there a way to configure a torrent client so that the progress bar on a torrent is updated more often to see a smooth growth?
>>60339313
It doesn't progress smoothly. Torrents are in pieces that can only be hash checked after they're downloaded. If the piece doesn't check it gets redownloaded.
You can increase the UI refresh, though. I know uTorrent's default is once a second.

Does mkfs.ext4 format your drive? I think I fucked up while installing Arch Linux and I did that command on my main hard drive, instead of another one.

maybe next time you won't copy paste unknown commands into your terminal
A web-browser analysis:
Based on my thoughts, opinions and experience.
Opera internet browser:
Pros:
> Most innovative / best innovations
> Most features / best features
> Customizable shortcuts
> Floating youtube feature.
> Built-in features.
> A very good sidebar
> Uses chromium engine
> Can use chrome extensions which is the most popular web-browser to develop extensions these days. High quality.
> Good and customizable speed-dial page compared with for example Chrome which is more locked browser.
Cons:
> Not overall as fast as Chrome
> Arguable not as beautiful as chrome
> Not very customizable with look due to hidden code-source
> Not as reliable with HTML and certain web-pages as chrome and firefox.
Conclusion: This is the web-browser for more experienced and advanced users, who needs for instance customize shortcuts.
More freedom than Google-chrome. Suitable for someone that looks after a web-browser that do more than "just werks".
Google chrome
Pros:
> Simplicity
> Reliable
> Beautiful due to simplicity
> Overall fastest
> High quality extensions and overall very popular
Cons:
> Not customizable. Hidden source code.
> Simplicity is not always good, especially for for advanced users. It's both a pro and a con.
> Rely on extensions to be usable
Conclusion:
While Opera and Chrome both are very similar, Chrome is definitely much more simple and user-friendly. Perfect for end-users. Also being beautiful, it's easy to see why this is the most used web-browser to this day. However, it's not perfect.
Just werks, all the time.
Mozilla Firefox.
Pros:
> Highly customizable, also with look
> Open source
> Big library of addons
> Unique
> Can be lightweight
Cons:
> Slow
> Outdated addons due to its fall in popularity
> Tries to copy chrome instead of being mozilla.
Conclusion:
Suitable for people who loves to customize or have special needs. Also great for people who love open source. Suitable for more advanced users.

Do you have a computer that is old and can only run XP? Use linux(ubuntu mate) to give it some life.
Do you use your PC just for online shitposting and maybe playing some indie games on steam or GOG? Use ubuntu or linux mint.
Did you get so used to the familiarity of windows that it makes you sick? Use linux.
Dualbooting is not hard, If you end up liking it, keep it.
>>60338206
Open source is the future, the only way we can continue to innovate in the IT field is to share ideas and solutions, closed software is like alchemy, so we are still in the middle ages of computing in that sense. We need to start sharing and shit will escalate like with science.
Also you can be sure under Linux that your OS isn't spying on you, unless you install something for that purpose.
>>60338206
Once you get used to an OS that treats you like the driver instead of a passenger sitting in a toddler's car seat, you'll have a hard time going back to Windows.
