You will work for them once they've become our new overlords.
Would all you pompous Linux users please stop blaming Windows and Microsoft for this ransomware incident? Clearly, the NSA is at fault here. And it's not like Linux is immune either.
So quit all the trolling.

It's not a troll. Linux can get it too. Go look up on twitter. Pic related.
Now that the dust has settled, what do we really think of Wannacry and its ilk?
>>60417982
NSA + Russia helping to cull the weak. I approve of this malware.
>>60417982
Well reports have been saying that very few people are paying. Maybe the media exposure will get enough people to finally realize that paying these guys is a bad idea. I think cloud based storage going mainstream is helping a bit. Untill the next celeb sexting cloud hack scares people off again.
>But really, it's just normies that fall for this shit.

There's been about $50,000 in payment, and it's apparently rising: http://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/15/wannacry-ransomware-hackers-have-only-made-50000-worth-of-bitcoin.html

Unspoken rule is to to be extremely afraid if any mac user is onboard with his fagbook. Those things have a habit of bursting into flames sometimes explosively violent.
This thread is for the discussion of NyaaPantsu (nyaa.pantsu.cat), a free (FOSS) torrent indexer.
The aim of this project is to write a fully featured nyaa.se replacement in golang that anyone will be able to deploy locally or remotely.
FAQ
>https://pastebin.com/Gq9MrJN5
>Why is Pantsu down/error 502?
Most likely because the team is deploying changes. Wait for a bit and refresh the page. It should be mostly stable now.
(Old) News
>Nyaa is live!, work ongoing for sukebei.
>Tracker stats done (but not optimized yet), file list soon-ish.
>User registration works, but e-mail confirmation isn't done yet (you can still login).
>Moderation and report system done, but still needs some fixes.
>Any news not coming directly from "PantsuDev" and "alucard" tripcodes is most likely not true.

Sure, experiment, learn and have some fun with it. If you're not sure, try it in a VM first
yes, in my opinion it's the best desktop distribution of Linux. good default setups and Cinnamon DE is no nonsense and intuitive, just like Windows 7
it's based on Ubuntu's long term service distros which the majority of linux pc's run, so huge community and support.
you'll hear FUD about it because their website got hacked once and they renamed some packages so certain OLD VERSIONS of programs will not work without dicking around.
people will call you a babby but they don't know that Linux is Linux and just because a GUI program exists to change fonts or whatever doesn't mean you can't go edit config files to do the same thing like an autistic weirdo
>>60417278
Yea, it's really easy to pick up and probably the most similar to Windows. If you're a mac user, Ubuntu would look more like what you're uses to but both Mint and Ubuntu are essentially the same thing.
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2017/05/secret-new-european-copyright-proposal-spells-disaster-free-culture
Wtf is this?
>The losers from this proposal are fourfold. Perhaps the biggest losers are the creators themselves, who will face new barriers between their art and their fans and collaborators. The streaming services will also lose out, as they will face higher expenses and will no longer be able to operate non-commercially even if they only carry freely licensed content. Fans, of course, will suffer because of the reduced legal availability of free music and video online. And even the copyright industry will suffer, as the increased costs of legal streaming services may cause creators and fans to shift back to peer to peer file sharing, where copyright infringing works are also exchanged.

I've been having a windows 10 for a while now and I haven't seen any "NSA BACKDOOR"
proof?
>>60416801
yes there is a backdoor in fact they're using it RIGHT NOW OMG
>>60416801
Only the NSA knows for sure. ShadowBrokers sure made it seem likely, though.
>>60416801
you can expect basically any tech that has parts that are designed, manufactured or distributed in the US to have NSA backdoors.
And if they don't then only because the NSA doesn't require a backdoor to get into it
How do pajeets even learn to code like a human being?

>READ REVIEWS on retailer page to see if that cheap SSD/PSU/whatever is reliable
>Consider larger SSD-only for what you budget SSD+HDD combined. Add HDD later once needed
>NVMe aren't for faster OS boot. They're primarily for productivity as a scratch disk

>mATX board+case is usually cheaper

Is there any torque difference between them (worried they'll vibrate my case)? Audio level?
Reposting this because there's a new thread, apparently.
Alright, this might sound pretty retarded, but what's the most portable/smallest and efficient build I can make?
I need a PC I can move back and forth between Europe and America only between 2-3 times a year, but I need it to fit in a hand baggage.
Once it has been moved, it would remain put for at least 3 months then move again.
