I'm on Arch too and I just gave KDE a shot today for the first time since last summer. It's kinda nice so far. It doesn't have parts that are falling apart left and right which is a huge change in my experience. And the RAM usage is impressive, hovers between 600mb to 700mb with nothing open. That's actually slightly better than MATE and way better than Gnome with it's 1.5gb ram usage on boot. I'll give it a test drive for a week and see if it keeps it together. If it does, I might finally ditch MATE on my powerful desktop.

later when i was working on a security project i decided as an experiment to try to undo all that shit. i can say with confidence that, at least 4 years ago, it was fucking impossible. you will get a lot of websites that will just outright refuse you, even if you contact a moderator or something
