Hey /p/, I'm having an issue with an SD card that I'm hoping someone here can help with.
The problem is that a card, full of video shot on a Canon 70d, was formatted in a Sony a7rii. The card has not been used since the formatting. Now I've used Photorec, but the current problem is that when I go to extract the files, I'm getting an (error 32 - broken pipe) message. I've found very little on what I can do about that error.
Does anyone here have experience with this problem?

Why haven't you had your computer blessed yet, /g/? Don't you want to be protected from ransomware?

To those of you who are new to this: It's a common practice to bless everything and anything in Russia.
There's a few websites who have large and long series on this; they bless tanks, guns, grenades, submarines, aircraft and who knows what.
I'd find OPs picture hilarious if this was new to me but since it's not I'm now just seeing another normal day in Russia.

With all the shit going down right now, is Wine a problem?
No.

What are you learning that's so difficult?

Sure, why not
Is this thing just a (current year) meme or does it actually have a shot?
Vivaldi didn't really live up to my expectations.

With other dangers out there and encryption being used as a tool by bad actors, why don't OS's offer the ability to halt unapproved encryption?
Imagine how safer computers would be if users had to approve encryption by program, like we can do with network firewalls.
Of course there would have to be heuristics created to detect when a program is going to encrypt things, like generating prime numbers, and other common procedures to encrypt data.
>>60508007
How do you tell an encrypted file from an encoded file?
How is an OS supposed to know that a program is encrypting things?

So I just got the Galaxy S8 and this is my first time owning an Android device. What is the best phone assistant? I'm hesitant to use Google's assistant as it want to know literally fucking everything about me. Should I just wait for the Bixby update?
>>60507816
I'm quite sure bixby uses the same information as the assistant.

How do I go about downloading free books on an android phone? Like what apps/websites should I be looking into.
i would like to know this as well as i just got the galaxy s8. this seemed to be easier on the iphones.

Torrent is your friend.
Sites like idope and 1337x
Bookzz or gen lib.
Why does it have to be through a phone though?
how does tlc-based psuedo-slc caching work? Is it always flushing from the upper layer to the lower ones even while writing or only when the drive is relatively idle? Or is it when the controller is at low enough utilization? I understand leaving the drive alone 'for awhile' is long enough to completely flush the cache but when does this process begin, and when does it end? Thanks.

Are there any drawbacks to getting rid of a landline in favor of Obihai/Obitalk and Google Voice? Calling inside the US is completely free aside from the initial cost of buying the modem.
>>60507347
No network, no voice. We ditched landline for Vonage 4 years ago. mostly because they have a cheap plan for calling 3rd world. Wife is filipino. Very happy with the choice.
The only four things I can think of so far are reliability of your ISP as >>60507394
said, it won't work without power, no 911 service, and no security system.
You can overcome the first three by just using your cellphone in a pinch. As for security systems, I think there are security systems that use cell networks now.
>>60507347
They're breddy good, but there's a firmware bug that happens sometimes, so I have a daily cron job that reboots mine at 2am. Haven't had a problem since.
Is lua a good first programming language? I was thinking about downloading some gmod mods and messing with the code
python or scheme is a good first programming language.

C'mon anon. You could have posted Grace Hopper instead of that Bitch Fuckface.
Charles Babbage needed her for her high society connections. He could in fact do it all the technical aspects himself, he needed to to understand his own invention.
