considering the new surface pro doesn't come with anything but the tablet anymore, is it still worth it or is it better to get a price reduced surface pro 4 in a few months?
yes, SP5 only has kaby lake i7.
SP4 is literally the same form factor

Ruby is the best programming language, prove me wrong.
>protip:

>>60553524
Why is rails so fucking difficult to set up on anything that isn't a fucking mac?
>>60553532
It's not particularly difficult to set up on linux, since everybody has ubuntu guides because pretty much everybody who uses rails deploys to AWS, Heroku or Engine Yard.
>>60553524
>too shity for twitter

Ruby is a meme.

Are you implying that 4chan being popular is a good thing?
That's even more reason to get rid of that shit.
besides security and open things, is there any reasonable reason to migrate to linux?
>>60553440
Programming is easier on Linux. Network shit is also way easier.
>>60553466

this, windows sometimes doesn't honor routing metric

always hear this meme but never see it backed up in any sufficient way. starting to think it's yet another /g/ phrase to parrot.
And why is the answer gaming?
I just tried out KDE Neon again, I was genuinely impressed you guys. It worked like a charm, fast, responsive. Can be customized to the last detail, if you don't like something. Hadn't had a crash at all (which used to be an issue for me)
If I could game on Linux I'd totally ditch my windows 7 for it. I'm definitely a fan.

poettering - Will close this now, as this is weird kernel behaviour and either the distros or the kernel should just stop doing this...
poettering - Creating a bond device just because the module is loaded is almost always a bad idea, and just a historical left-over.
poettering - on fedora "modprobe bonding" results in a device being creating too... meh...
>>60553370
Poettering is a complete retard
Cant't rememeber exactly what it was, but someone BTFO him and he just closed the issue
>>60553405
It was him not understanding how rm -r .* worked and assuming that it'd also target . and ..
>>60553405
most of the """closed""" '''issues''' are left there with no straight answers.
poettering is a real threat.
Do people actually use unity?
yeh
For sure. Most people don't give a shit what their desktop looks like and just want to get shit done.
>>60553204
Yeah, because they don't spend their time hanging around DE extremist forums like /g/.
Anyways, probably not in the future because of Canonical just not giving a shit about Unity. I doubt people will actually use Yunit when those idiots are struggling to pick a logo without going on an autistic rant.

Windows Defender has been successfully ported to Linux. Now we can ensure we keep our systems free of malware

>Winelib is used to port Windows C++ projects to Linux, and Wine is intended to run full Windows applications. This project is intended to allow native Linux code to load simple Windows DLLs.

It's easy man. Just imagine coding as writing a recipe for baking a cake. The instructions run from top to bottom. Now imagine you have to learn new words and syntax to describe how to carry out the instructions. Simples.
