Just sort memes by year. They're usually all contained within a certian time period anyway.

Is outsourcing your IT to India ever cost-effective in the long run?

British Airways systems have totallycrashed today, not long after they sacked all their IT guys and contracted out to India. Now their planes can't fly and customers are pissed off. The reputational damage alone is incalculable

This thread is for the discussion of NyaaPantsu (nyaa.pantsu.cat), a free (FOSS) torrent indexer.
The aim of this project is to write a fully featured nyaa.se replacement in golang that anyone will be able to deploy locally or remotely.

FAQ
>https://pastebin.com/Gq9MrJN5 (embed)

>Why is Pantsu down/error 502?
Most likely because the team is deploying changes. Wait for a bit and refresh the page. It should be mostly stable now.

News
>Added api searching
>Theme fix up is still ongoing but making progress
>Scrapers in progress
>Added untested reset api button
>Now use svgs for icons
>Mods have more mass edit tools
>Filelist tree views properly work
>Elastic search done but needs testing

Is $100 worth an upgrade from 8 GB to 16 GB of soldered RAM?

ITT post legitimate reasons 8 GB is not enough
64 posts and 8 images submitted.
>>
What are you using it for anon?
>>
>>60609636
mostly programming. honestly I've never come close to using 8 in my previous notebook but $100 is not bad so something that's permanent
>>
>>60609622
If it's just a fap station or a 4chan machine, 8 is plenty.

I have 8 GB, play games, host a Plex server, run GIMP. Never had a RAM issue.

The real question is why are you disrespecting yourself and telling manufactures that you're okay with anti-consumer practices like soldered-on RAM and storage?

Do you hate freedom, Anon?

Anyone here know how to build a Floppy disk reader?
Or start an opensource floppy disk project, I don't really care except that I want to use some old hd ones I found the other day.

Buy an external floppy drive

But why?

(You can still find old PCs with floppy reader)
>>
>>60609373

I have a USB floppy drive you can have if it will help cure your autism. Bought it like 8 years ago to recover some old data and haven't used it since.

Generally you want a larger speaker with lower LFE, rather than getting a sub as a crutch for speakers that fall off at 80hz, until doing so no longer becomes practical.
For instance, you may not want speakers that take up your entire desk, so in a PC speaker setup you pretty much need a sub if you want low frequencies.
