What is the best backend framework?
Why do you think so?

they're both fucking garbage, but django is a bit better because python is a much more widely used language and is much more versatile. Also django is easier to get started with

I feel the opposite, I feel like Rails is much easier. I used to write a prolific amount of php, mostly with a framework called codeigniter. It was a really fast and good framework back in the day. Anyway I'm a systems guy, and mostly do devops stuff these days. I mostly use Ruby and Python to make scripts and small automation focused services with flask and Sinatra.

Anyway earlier this year I needed a full blown web crud app so I started with django having never used it before. I found it frustrating and I hated how I had to mess with routes for every page.

I switched to rails and I was way more productive and felt much more comfortable with rails in general. Rails will basically do everything for you automatically, the basics of getting all your crud in CRUD setup with literally a few lines of code and config. From there you can iteratively start customizing as needed. Rails 5 is based as fuck imo.

Make sure to apt update && apt upgrade (or pacman -Syu or whatever other shitty package manager you have) and do a full reboot ASAP. This is an important bugfix.

RSS feeds to be precise. I post it in /g/ because I assume most of you here share my dilemma: You want to see what's new in the world. Oh. Trump made a typo on twitter. Okay, lets check news in science. "Quitting the Paris accord leaves no cure for climate change". Oh. Well lets check news in gaming. "Overwatch players hate losing, Jeff Kaplan says". Oh.

You see my issue.
Where do you find news without filler? I'm getting very close to just aggregating a bunch of sources and filtering out keywords.

To be completely honest I usually just skim /g/ & /pol/ for the news, then if I see something interesting I google it to find out if it is true.

Why are Corefags so concerned about corez when in fact 99.999999% of these degenerates will never use more than 2-4?
31 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
>>60712853
The ones that don't care are the ones in the 99% that won't use them. That other 1% are the ones who care about more cores because they have a use for them.

Op here...
I mean I would like cheaper HEDT 8 core CPUs, but 99% of /g/ doesn't need it.

I need it cuz I do intensive tasks every day but I know I'm in the 1%.

This is why Jewtel never pushed 6+ cores into the mainstream.

what is your opinion on php7?

Has it matured enough to be considered not shit anymore?

I used to make some good cash with side projects during my studies which was nice

it got some nice frameworks so far which force you to not write shit code tho, I'd consider that a plus

When will people drop Rust for this?

When the D Foundation has more money, influence, and history than Mozilla?

That IS the entire reason Rust has any traction.
>>
There is an app that I would really like to do in D but unfortunately D doesnt have very good support for GUI widget toolkits like they all seem to be either abandoned or barely maintained so I guess I'll have to use C++ since all the main libraries are in C++.

What made you switch back from Linux to Windows? For me:
- Shit takes over 9000 hours to configure well, whereas windows just works OOTB
- chocolatey is a pretty okay package manager for Windows that works just as well as apt
- Prime production software like the Adobe CC suite, Sony Vegas, Autodesk products etc dont work at all on Linsucks natively
- Software on Linsucks is written by hobbyists that have no quality control at all - because the software is provided "as is", they dont give a shit either
- MUH GAMES are buggy and shit because of subpar quality drivers. Which company would bother writing software for a system with 2% marketshare anyway?
ยด- it uses more energy than Win 10, and the "privacy concerns" are quickly fixed with running one of the mutiple Win 10 privacy tools

Why is every other post a Microsoft shill post now? Are you that worried about Linux? I didn't read all that bullshit btw. You wrote it for nothing.

So I finally decided to build myself a nas, my current plan is raid5 with 4x1tb harddrives. Does anybody have experience what motherboard I should go for? I'm going to use an old pc case that was equipped with a mini atx board, but it's about 10 years old and broken.

Any suggestions on the build?

What OS are you going to use, Freenas?
>>
>>60711361
I was considering making a post. I am need to replace my current raid setup.

I want to have at least 8tb, but only have room for 3hds. Maybe I can get a 4th in there.

Anyway, is HGST the only real choice? Everything else seems to have utterly high infant death.
>>
>>60711361
Are you putting this machine in Antarctica where you must fly by plane when 3 out of 4 drives are bad? You don't even need RAID unless you can't have any downtime.

2500k system died.

With it was a 980 Ti Classified (RMA'd a 780 Ti Classified), 16GB DDR3 1333.

I quickly threw this together

https://pcpartpicker./list/dRKn4C

Any critiques ?
I already have a monitor, mouse, keyboard, sound card, and HDD's.

I'm open to a Ryzen build, but I have a144hz display and want to get every frame I can as long as i'm not paying tons extra for Intel. I also should be overclocking, but might be too lazy to do it.

Did the 980 ti die too? What happened
>>
>>60711294

it was rma'd and either th mobo had issues due to the pci-e slot being pulled on due to shitty alignment, and/or that GPU had port issues and that's why it was returned.
