Hey you cucks, I don't have any friends to ask and this forum seems like it would have the most qualified people to answer this.
Should I go to a university for some Cyber security bachelors program, or should I go to my local college for a Network Administration program?
Does the school that you go to really matter that much? Also which program is more realistic to land me a job?
Thanks,
-Cuck
>>60782888
yes
ok well i regret making this thread...
You won't get a job, cuck.
Cuz Linus said so!

Nothing against USB-C here. Not switching to it soon, that's all.
How do you become more creative? I feel it's a very valuable attribute for a programmer. Pic not related

is there a linux distro for madmen ?
Hey /g/.
My mother recently purchased a new home and asked me to see about setting up a home security suite for her.
She wants to be able to view shit like animals and stuff from indoors.
She doesn't care about remote viewing when she's on vacations and the like either.

Hey /g/, so summers' coming up and the temps are getting high. Unfortunately my mobo only has one fan header (not including CPU cooler fan) so I have to use a splitter to use two case fans. My case has room for five.
Any way I can add any more without using the mobo? Is there a way to connect any to the unused cables from my psu?
>>60782127
get a fan controller. hook it to the chassis header and power from molex. If you dont need a fan curve you can get cheap molex to 3 pin adapters and the fan will run 100% constant
>>60782160
Maybe you know something I don't and the US market is probablly better but all the fan controllers I've found have been shit, and not able to bring fans down to a silent level. Except for the the-setting fan controllers that often are built into cases, those work reasonably well for some reason, probably because they use resistors.
>cheap molex to 3 pin adapters and the fan will run 100% constant
Good idea, but get some $1 low noise adapters to get them to run at desired level.
>>60782127
fans have diminishing returns, the difference between 3, 4 or 5 fans is minimal with normal components. also use SQT next time
/g/, what minors would go well with an IT major? I'm pretty limited as far as what I could minor in so I'm kind of stuck.

install gentoo pajeet
what do?
Reinstall the program to try to fix this problem.
I'd probably make sure that I let the installer install all the dependencies it needs.
I'd probably find accelerometerdll.DLL
Did you try reading the error yet
install gentoo
get intel
This is a general HTTP security thread for anyone willing to discuss, help newbies or learn more about HTTP security in general.
Who among you running your own Web server? Do you secure your traffic with TLS and HTTP security headers? Do you enforce a secure connection using HSTS [1]? Do you ensure that user agents pin your server's public certificate with HPKP [2]? Do you enforce content restrictions with CSP [3]?
The following websites help you check your server's security:
https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/index.html
https://observatory.mozilla.org/
https://securityheaders.io/
Or you can do a basic check yourself using the following tools:
sslscan
sslyze
observatory-cli

I really like the idea of this thread, but sadly I think it's a bit too specific to gain any real traction.
>>60780922
My DNS security thread was a little more prosperous, yes. I'm thinking of merging both threads, but I fear that would cause the thread to be too broad and generic. What you guys think?
>>60781084
This topic is already extremely specific, I don't think that merging the threads would be too 'generic' at all.
That being said, I think this would make a lot more sense to be part of the Web Dev general, or perhaps something along the lines of "Web Security General"
Either way, I'm off for tonight. Best of luck anon, I'll keep an eye out for your threads.

Trying to upgrade up a system; I am using a AMD 6100 with an 5770 which seems a little bit unreliable now. I don't want to play games but I want decent performance with the occasional graphically intensive programs. I am looking at 750ti but wondering if 730 won't be enough. Also, what kind of SSD would you recommend on top of an HDD. I am primarily concerned about reliability and longevity.
>>60780506
If you absolutely have to get a low end GPU, get an RX 560 or GTX 1050. 750ti, 730 and 1030 are all garbage.
>>60780585
I am not going to be playing any games dude. Why do I need a 1050 TI ?

Hey
Do you even work with EPOS systems? I've just started my new IT job as a Helpdesk. What are the most common errors? Which elements of this kind of systems are most shitty?
>>60780247
most issues can be fixed iwth a reboot.
>>60780247
Most of the time there are multiple registers connected to a server that is in the same building and makes it easier to determine where the issues stem from
This is true in most fast food joints and some retail
Most common errors would be the POS machines losing their connection to to the master server which is usually fixed by a restart or remote desktop to the server PC.
They all run Windows by the way.
>>60780247
Pretty much everything. EFTs, printers (unable to open cash drawers), handheld scanners, keyboards, unable to get the correct prices from database etc etc.

I have some old wmv files from around 2007 on and old laptop. They are DRMed and need to call up a server to type in the keys to see them. But the company behind it doesn't exist. Is there some why I can circumvent the DRM?

Is it possible to remove drm from a wmv file without a licence?
