Is there a program available to go through every one of my bookmarks and download the FLV of any video or (say .mp3) for music file and download it?

From my limited understanding, I need a webscraper and somehow to have it only download video and audio files from it. I will use premade programs now, but in the future what programming languages would be useful for this sort of thing as well as webcrawling?

Second question: I am learning to code a bit. I know some html, xml, lua, and java, vhdl and matlab. For something like I would like above, what would be the ideal programming languages to learn?

I will finish Java, move onto node.js, Python, objective C, and C++. I need to learn R and PHP and for general website scraping and collecting data + a sql or nonsql database systtem. Possibly Go and Kotlin.

I am Engineering so I need to know some code and I've just been to lazy sit down and work on it. Ideally, I'd like to figure out really what differentiates each language from one another, which features each has and does not have, and not learn languages that are redundant. Is there a good website to learn this information from?

My thinking of finishing Java then Python then Objective C then C++ to be the easiest route and let me work and finish some simple projects first.

Last question that ties into the first:

While I am in University, I have access to ~7 academic databases. Illegal yes, but how would I theoretically be able to download as many studies/articles/published material from it as possible? Kind of ties into the first.

They will notice, block you and then possibly prosecute. Don't do this.

Honestly, you could do a 95% solution with wget working from your bookmarks exported as html.

Java and Lua are fine for this, but it doesn't play to those languages' strengths.

I have no idea if universities actually watch for this stuff, but in the interest of staying out of jail I would assume they do. Assuming that, this is exceptionally difficult. You could spend months trying to step everything up to not get caught doing this.

Basically, to do it safely, you'd need to steal somebody else's credentials and then do it over WiFi somewhere where it could be anybody or install what is effectively malware on a machine somewhere to do it for you, both of these ideally with a program on your local machine that immediately bounces the data over TLS or perhaps even Tor to a server you've hidden somewhere ready to receive the data.

Basically, if you have to ask it's well beyond your skillset.
>>

>>60872962
Probably. I have someone else's credentials and a staff member. Obtaining multiple people's credentials to spread it out over a year wouldn't be a problem. Getting the data safely to a Tor server would be the part I need to learn.

Hey g,

My tv died and I'm looking for a replacement tv. I have a PS4 Pro. Is a 4K worth it? If so which model? I don't want to spend a lot on it though. Can I get a decent one for under $1,000? My old tv was 55".

>My dad died and I'm looking for a replacement tv
That's what I read when glancing at the threads in the catalog... I thought that was a weird reason to start shopping for a TV.
>>
Yeah 4K is the new TV standard I barely see FHD tvs anymore. A TV with a good upscaler will also make HD/FHD material look better. Look for a TV with HDR 10bit, here in Europe Hisense offers really good budgets TV for under 1k. Also check the input lags for your gaming

Will this thing be available for non-developers? Will you be able to buy 3rd-party enclosures? Can you use any graphics card you want? Will you consider buying a Mac now that this is coming out?

I have a real job that requires me to do real work and get it done by tight deadlines and I hate Windows 10. The only real option is to migrate to a Mac, but I don't want to be stuck with a slow graphics processor or stuck with Apple's glacier-paced upgrade schedule. Should I get a Macbook Pro and then an external GPU when they come out, or just continue to suffer using Microsoft's indian-made/outsourced buggy garbage?

>inb4 "Muh Linux!"
....No really I have real work to do and I'm not a software developer. I don't have the time to deal with the endless string of random shit breaking at the worst possible time. I've tried Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, and ElementaryOS and each had its own problems.

tldr: Linux on the desktop is hot dogshit and fucking useless for work outside of the software development world. Hardly any major software works on it natively and that is also a problem such as: All of Adobe's shit, AutoDesk and Solidworks, just to name a few big ones.

The ONLY mainstream eGPU solution that CAN'T accelerate the laptop's built in display and requires an external monitor to get any performance out of the GPU. FUCKIN KEK. Applel is a fucking joke.

Mactoddlers will defend this.

>Will this thing be available for non-developers?
Yes. Anyone who wants to buy it.

>Will you be able to buy 3rd-party enclosures? \
Yes. All it needs to be Thunderbolt 3 compatible.

>Can you use any graphics card you want?
Yes. Both the Nvidia and AMD make drivers for all their latest graphics cards.

>Will you consider buying a Mac now that this is coming out?
Already have a 2016 MBP. Will buy eGPU later on.

So some of you may be aware of the following resource:

http://fotogenerator.npocloud.nl/

Essentially, some researchers made a neural network to turn a line drawing into a face.

This has great exploitation potential.

My goal is to be able to throw an arbitrary piece of line art in the input so that it can be processed. This will allow much more potential for inserting art, as the built-in editor is absolutely awful.

I have the following so far:

/*
* Throw the following code into the console at:
* http://fotogenerator.npocloud.nl/
*/

// select the canvas
var canvas = document.querySelector("#dekennisvannu canvas");

// grab a 2D drawing context
var ctx = canvas.getContext("2d");

// grab an image from a remote source
myimage = new Image();
// YOUR IMAGE GOES HERE
myimage.src = 'http://orig02.deviantart.net/f15e/f/2009/148/2/5/mizore_shirayuki_by_taylachan.jpg';

// Draw the image on the canvas, with the corner lined up.
// THIS WILL SCALE THE IMAGE TO FIT. Please give it a square image so it is not distorted.
ctx.drawImage(myimage, 140, 40, 256, 256);

This code will add the image to the right place in the right shape on the canvas.

However, the issue is that seemingly, any mouse move event on the document will reset the canvas, as if it is intentionally rejecting all content not drawn using the editor.

Things I know:

- the entire interface is drawn in the same canvas, so I can't just use jquery to click the "process" button without moving the mouse over to it.
- removing the mousemove handler prevents the entire interface from working

Why do these morons always assume that outcomes need to be proportional to initial conditions?

Who cares? Why is it even relevant to anything?

I think in this rate Google's going to have a new competitor taking chunks out of its market in the next few years

how is this even a question faggot?
literally, WHAT?
i have an old google acc but that was just to use gmail huge storage back in the times of couple tens of MB storage and shit. but its never been my main email.

sure i get that having a free "permanent" email where you know no matter what happens, you can contact someone years from now, across the globe, thats why i use the same 90s yahoo email, at least yahoo pushed for DKIM mail, hotmail will bully small mail exchanges with their retarded demands unless you're paying their mail safety program, and google isnt much better if youre a private MX exchange sending single email to customers, they work with a presumed "spam until proven otherwise" paradigm too often, unless youre using their paid mail servers.

even using their email server, or webmails for anything even with adblockage youre suporting them with userbase to harass all other legitimate mail servers.

i have a private email, an yahoo for backup keeping in touch with people, and always a small freemail to use primarily, but over the years these have came and gone over the decades, currently openmailbox.org
also a sigaint (tor) acc just for fun

>>60872415

well, just waste their bandwidth with adblockage, spread NewPipe to your friends

search and intall some user/channel filtering extensions like VideoBlocker on firefox on their computers..

I'm a med student. My fellas and I record every lesson and then turn it into a nice transcript with slides and pictures and shit. Problem is, we merge them into a single pdf/docx file which can't be complete until the end of the year and I can't/won't print dozens of partial files. My laptop is portable but still not as portable as a tablet; I don't want to study on LCDs and burn my eyeballs any more; pic related is the largest affordable ebook reader (7.8") and still it's pretty small. Do you think it's too small? Does any of you study on e-ink?

>>60872214
Also, lack of colour wouldn't be a major loss since I usually print BW anyways. I thought to ask here because I've never seen anyone studying on e-ink but med students are a bunch of macfags, so they don't really count

Anesthesiologist here. Physical media is better for this kind of shit, learn better when you can physically interact with and write on the paper. That said, have plenty of digital reference books and its fine.

>>60872214
Never tried that, but I usually write and make schemes on loose white paper sheets rather than highlighting the pages with markers so guess it could work for me.

So let's hear everyone's speculation on the obvious demise of TVAddons. What's next? Is their light at the end of the tunnel? Must be some way to get Exodus installed on Krypton 17.3 without haveing to use some shitty build. Let's hear it /g/.

Anyone had any luck using a pen/tablet for drawing on their shitty ass chromebook? I really want to start drawing digitally, but it'll be a few months before I have an 'actual' computer.

There's this thing called paper and a writing utensil called a pencil. It's about $5 for a good setup.
>>

Yeah, I already own pencil and paper, and tons of pens. I use them nearly everyday for drawing.

>I really want to start drawing digitally

I have a cheap-ass Acer C720P but it's running Arch. Not sure if you're talking about ChromeOS.
I extensively take notes on text files (plain or org-mode) to organize my projects, thought etc and sometimes I just need to do a schematic or something.
I had a shitty cheap touchscreen pen. Not really a digitizer but just rubber. It kinda works but apparently there are more accurate ones even of that shitty type.
I kinda want to get a X220t or a X1 Yoga just for the pen note taking. Maybe I'll even get into drawing dem animu tiddies.

>>60870660
First of all kys. Second, paper doesn't cut it because it will get heavy and wasteful. Also I want the images on the same place with other files with all the same "infrastructure": ssh and syncthing syncing, periodic rsync backups, encryption etc.
