The bezel is TOO THIN
The 9.5" prior model, I can just about hold the iPad by the sidewith my thumb and avoid the screen, with 3mm to spare

theoretical question:
if i have a 144hz **gaming monitor** can i clock it to a higher than 144hz refresh rate? Something like 180 - 200HZ. Don't worry about the GPU, let's say its capable of outputting over 300FPS in game.
can this be done?

every monitor should be able to be clocked higher using custom resolution utility in either NoVidya or AyyMD control panel. I clocked my SyncMaster T220 to 75Hz from base 60, but I suppose it should work with 144Hz ones too. However don't expect to get it too high, artifacts will appear if you choose wrong mode or set it too high. I'd say it could go up to 20Hz more at best, but you never know.

Howdy /g/ I just bought a dell 9100 of craigslist for 20 bucks. Is it worth going through all the hassle of modding 771 to 775 to slap a xeon in this bad boy?
Any advice with 1066 fsb Xeons would help as well.

Would it even work? The 9100 seems to have pentium 4 or D, either way, it most likely wont support Xeon with the motherboard. Did you check the forums to see if the motherbaord was compatible? Bios mod?

So ive looked on the delidded fourms and theve tested a Intel DG965SS board and it took a l5408. The motherboard in the dell ive got is a DG965MS with a Core 2 duo in it right now.
I just dont know if those last to letters being different will make a difference in compatibility.

Wait until Xmas, you will get 4k HDR 10bit panels with decent panels for sub 1k$.
It's not worth it to buy it right now, desu you should wait for OLED to drop in price and get one of those LG OLEDs, they look incredible.

The Phillips one is decent, but its not without faults. I'm on my second one because the first one failed a month in and this one has a pair of dead pixels.
Planning to upgrade to the first 40"+ 4320p display with freesync that goes below $1000.

I purchased a used ThinkPad from a refurbished on ebay. The listing said that the factory recovery partition was still intact.
When I asked the seller to to confirm the recovery partition was in tact, he said yes it was but that he recommends DO NOT restore from recovery an unused OS install.
What the fuck?
Seems extremely suspicious.
Does /g/ recommend installing from scratch, or from recovery, a refurbished computer purchased from a reputable seller on eBay (has like 15k reviews and a 100% rating).

iPhone fucked for good?
I have an iPhone 7, relatively new. It was at like 5% so i went to plug it in and left it alone. I came back like 10 minutes later and its turning on and off. Basically it shows the reboot screen with the apple logo for like 3 seconds and turns off. It's been doing this for 10 minutes
no matter what button i hold nothing happens.
unplugging it and plugging it back in doesn't do shit either.
help.
