How do we get more women into coding? Should there be affirmative action quotas in companies to make sure women are represented? What stereotypes need to be broken in order to offer an inclusive environment that will encourage women into the field?

Hire prostitutes to your startup every day. They're probably smarter and produce more value than a female "programmer"
>>
>>60965728
Just make sure they are female(male) and that they have to supply their own programming socks.
>>
>>60965756
I would gladly pay for all the programming socks if I could work in an office full of female(male) programmers.

This isn't what's going to happen at all, though.

What will happen is cheap, symmetrical 10 Gbit internet for every building in America.

please help me choose between these two noise cancelling headphones for the airplane

>Cowin E7 - 70 dollars

>Audio Technica ATH-ANC9 - 130 dollars

I just want whatever has better noise cancelling, does anyone have experience with either? also other recommendations are appreciated if they're inherently better

Bruh, 1 dollar headphones.
Quality is shit but it works.
Alternatively i have one of those LG Bluetooth ones that can work up to 4 hours from the last charge, cost me about 8 dollaroos, their quality are superior, not an audiophile myself, luckily.
>>

p = positive you complete retard.

Right now i'm using 4 6tb WD drives for my back up. I'm just using my 3.5hdd dock and transfer files to them then duplicate the data. This is becoming a real issue with how much time it takes to manage. Thinking of setting up a home NAS with Free NAS. Now I get Raid levels but people seem to say ZFS but I don't understand how data is stored. I'm willing to give up half my capacity for redundancy. Can someone explain to this to me? The wiki for ZFS is not really explaining it to me in a way I can understand.

>>
Go for raidz1 which is the equivalent of raid5, but better because no bit rot. Don't use freeNAS since it's pleb tier. Use Debian.
>>
>>60965181
I went from freenas to OMV with XFS. Save your money buying 1GB ECC RAM per TB for using ZFS
also I hav wired permission errors with using FreeNAS (across linux and Windows)
No problems so far with OMV

Is it easy to use? I'm a pleb with this kind of thing and I'm not sure what advanced features I'd pick up using a more advanced os

Hey /g/ I want to get in the I.T game. I just got an A.S in information security. But it is useless as no one will hire me. I know how to harden systems. But seems like you need years of experience before anyone will hire me as a security analyst. Been applying to help desk positions and i.t technicians with no luck. Should have gotten a networking degree. But all networking classes did was teach us windows server 2012. So /g/ I want to expand my tech knowledge. I read books but I want hands on projects. Downloaded elementy os on my old gaming computer. So you guys have any tips? Any good hands on projects? Do i need to learn a programing language?

Get some old routers and flash them with OpenWRT or DDWRT, configure them to be either routers and/or switches, make a server with your old computer, virtualize a ton of other servers on that (File server, VPN, mail server, etc), then try and make your own hodgepodge home network setup with shit like a Intranet site that has access to your file server and other projects that you can look up
Its a great way to dive head first into networking and its the closest you can get to a real network setup while just using home equipment

All the IT sec people I've met have come up through the help desk or sys admin. Keep trying for those jobs.

If you want to be more than a useless mouth breather when you get there, learn some basic web tech. How DNS works, anatomy of a TLS connection etc.
>>
>>60964973
Same problem. Get some certs. A+ Network+ Microsoft, Apple, Linux, Cisco, etc. Just get the ones you want for what ever job you want.
