I want to start a new web forum.
>inb4 dead format

I've been grandfathered in to forum hosting before, but I've never built one from the ground up.

What are good forum programs?
Good hosts?
Maybe even free hosts to start with that will let me migrate to a proper host in the future?

What are good forums to use as an inspiration of sorts?

It's not that hard to write your own forum in php. The simpler it is the more secure it is.

There are people on this board right now, getting paid for trying to sell you shit from this once bankrupt company called "logitech". Of course always claimed to be based on personal experience.

Kinda poor anon here...

I found this dell precision T5400 in the trash the other day and finally cleaned it up. It was full of fucking spiders, dirt, and various other shit from where the previous owner left it in his garage for years.

Should I invest and make it awesome (if possible) or should I continue to save up for another machine. I have about $300 to burn and would rather work with what I have if possible, what can be done for an old workstation like this? It has an 875w power supply, so I don't think that is worth changing. Only games I would play would be really overwatch and some dark souls. I would also use this for video editing.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

that cpu isn't strong enough to do much with so i wouldn't even bother unless you feel like buying another xeon and throwing it in there

it'd still bottleneck and you'd probably be able to use a gtx 1060 at MOST and even then that's a stretch

in an AI? i've tried plugins that analyze the sound but they're not entirely accurate and don't work well with chords. i don't know, it seems logical, there are MIDI keyboards galore, it'd only make sense that they'd make a MIDI controller in the shape of a guitar

mine is a pretty well known project, mostly people who star it to bookmark it and then use it later on or forget about it, thats why the watch:star ratio is too high. Only 14 contributors too.

Contracts with manufacturers, son. Intel can turn out a turd (Pentium 4) and still come out on top. It's a long uphill battle all the way.
>>
>>60997776
If AMD can put out a product as good as Epyc with as much support behind it as they have, and still not gain any marketshare, x86 just needs to fucking die, because it's just perenially stuck up Intel's asshole for all eternity.

Want to actually get stuff done? Windows.

Want to get some stuff done while pretending to be superior to Windows users? OSX

Want to feel like you're accomplishing anything but in reality all you're doing is covering up for the hole in your life? Distro hop.

Hyped by the newest Debian, Stretch release I downloaded my image and went on to install it in my laptop. Finally I was installing Linux!

There was an screen that reminded me of Windows 10 that asked if I wanted to opt in for a botnet like "feature" for "whatever repositories" program. That was weird since people here glorify Debian and Trash Ubuntu but well...
So I just did every step on the installer and it was about to finish when it gave me an error "when installing packages", and prompted me to go back to the step and redo it.

As I imagined, once it failed, it never worked. That was frustrating as hell.
So I went on and downloaded openSUSE Tumbleweed. I did every step in the installer, and it was installing, but got stuck at 87% and asked me for "nic1 disk" or something like that. Both pressing continue or cancel did nothing that made it work, why the fuck would it ask for a disk when it just downloaded all the packages it needed from the internet still makes me think about the mental health of the fucking retards that made this distro.

FUCK THIS SHIT.

So I then downloaded Ubuntu 16.04 and it installed right away without any kind of problem.

WHY THE FUCK ARE SUCH MAJOR DISTRIBUTIONS SO SHIT THEY DO NOT EVEN WORK FOR SOME PEOPLE?

These retards then will complain about windows when I haven't seen a blue screen since like 6 years ago when I still had windows xp. Windows 10 works like a charm, is like 999 times more pretty than any default distro gnu/linux has to offer and much more. Moreover the only distribution of probably the top three that works was Ubuntu for me.

Thing is, I really want to have a Linux system, and while Ubuntu works well, I feel like it's bloated with shit I don't want.
I tried to install Arch as well, and did, but I don't they're also a bunch of retards that won't help anyone and just redirect them to their shitty wiki, written like you already knew stuff.

All I want is a fucking distro with just what I want. Is that so difficult in gnu/linux? lol
Can anybody help me here? I only need to get xfce installed on the barebones Arch I just managed to put together.
Once I log in as root, what steps should I do with an ati radeon card to get xfce working?
>>
>>60997434
At this point even installing gnome would be alright if I do it on Arch and more people know that desktop environment.
>>
>>60997423
Yeah, you should stick with Ubuntu

And you probably mean the 'popularity-contest' package on Debian, or something of the sort?

OP5 vs. LG V20 vs. LG G6

Please, which one should I get? All about the same price in Canada from what I can find.

Lg = bootloop. v20 csnt be rooted in Canada. OP5 can be rooted, more ram, better camera, better support from the vendor....

no brainer for me.

What model of the G6 should I be looking for (eastern us, cdma/gsm is irrelevant). I've been seeing a lot of cheap h870ds models around but they're for Russia/Hong kong. I should mention I'm looking for sub-$500 models
