Android apps general thread I guess
What is a good sms app that I can actually use to send messages to other people without having to download something stupid? I don't wanna use google allo (I might get the OP5 soon).
What's a good music player, now that blackplayer added ads and went to shit? I'm looking at pulsar, it's pretty good looking
What apps do you use?
Also, looking for anon who was working on this with me, found a file and can give it to you for you to use/edit. hmu if you're here, add me on email or whatever

Hey /g/
you know that meme where we call 4chan a "chinese cartoons imageboard" or "norwegian goat herding forum" or whatever
i made a program that randomly generates names
it generates lists from the three txt files (they have to be in the directory with the executable, you can change them, line limit of 50 characters), then just throws them together.

Three .txt modifiable dictionaries, the source code, and an already compiled executable.
What do you think?

The answer, as unfortunate as it is because I hate giving credence to morons, is to lift weights. You're weak.

Hi /g/. I'm planing to produce some kits to make it easier for people to get into analog video synthesizers, but I can't decide between Composite or VGA input/output. What do you think the best option is? VGA is much easier but a dying format.
A video synthesizer is similar to an audio synthesizer, but you're generating or distorting a video signal. It can be a lot of fun and a good way to get into electronics.
The kits wouldn't come with a tv/monitor or a video source, so it's important I pick the format more people have equipment for and want to work with.
Why not both? It sounds like you will be using FPGAs, so there should not be a cost/pin problem.
It's been a long time since I last saw composite video being used in a serious manner, but VGA is still popular with consumer grade projectors.
>>61001507
I wasn't planning to use an FPGA since I wanted to keep cost down and it would somewhat defeat the purpose of the project to run the signal into an ADC and convert it to different formats with digital logic. One of the coolest things about analog video synths is you don't really have pixels because you're applying a continuous signal instead of reading discrete values from memory.
It would cost more to have both inputs/outputs, but the main issue is I want to provide an instruction booklet of example circuits, and those aren't going to behave the same way with the two systems.
For reference this is a VGA synth project I did a few years ago that people keep asking me to build for them.
>>61001397
Both CRAP!
Use SCART!
Its same as VGA as RGB but unlike a VGA port, all tellies have a SCART port

Why use a pmp and not a phone?
• Aside from this tired old bait (seriously don't take it) dedicated devices are subjectively more comfortable when you want a dedicated player with a large storage capacity
• you want a small player for physical activities
• you want a dedicated player in situations where you don't want your phone tied to any cords
Previous thread >>60914621
Those are terrible reasons to use a dap instead of a phone, much better reasons would be being able to use physical buttons letting you use it in your pocket, having a long battery, and not having to worry about something happening to your phone.

Upgrading ipod classic 160gb to 512gb 1/2 x SD/2 x micro SD/1 x sata drive.
Should I pay more for micro sd card, in the middle for sd card or less for sata drive?
Is double the price justified for being able to continue using the micro sd cards in the future?
Or should the sata drive fulfill its duty for a while? Should I pretend I'll need 256/512 sd card in the future and get sd card?
Can you give me a push?

Is it true that using libreboot will protect me from the Intel NSA backdoor?
>>61001123
yes, but you need compatible hardware and that list is very limited
get a lenovo x60 or x200
>>61001123
lol no
There is more than one backdoor the NSA has available to them. If you use a computer, they have a backdoor. The one and only thing they might not have a backdoor for is secure, non-AES encryption. That doesn't really matter though, because trying to protect yourself against state level actors as a civilian is an exercise in futility.

Btw the functionality of the web browser is questionable at best, it plays some videos and can load google maps but it fails at searching and displaying any number of web pages.. (4chan included evidently)

Would pay significantly more than that for a GOOD web browser + clover, not even joking.
