Is the stock market so stupid that high speed trading makes a lot of money, or is there an ulterior motive like scamming people, money laundering or hiding insider trading?
>>61016468
>I don't understand how stocks work
HFT isn't technically scamming, but it is in the gray area of what should be considered legal. HFT doesn't create any real value in itself, it only exploits the fact that you can react fast and predict microtrends, and by doing millions of transactions per millisecond, you can earn a lot of money.
>>61016499
I know how stocks work. I just wonder if hft really makes money, or is it a lie - insider trading attributed to a randomly acting machine, specifically loosing money to a hft to hide a money transfer, etc. Did microtrends even exist before hft?

So long as the hardware works like the lid making the laptop go to sleep without messing with /acpi/wakeup or the wifi card working, etc. you are good to go. Swapping kernels is easy on these
Is this SSHD meme still a meme or are they actually worth it now?
>>61016214
They were never worth it and never will be.
>>61016290
So it's back to my original idea of SSD + HDD. Alright.
>>61016314
Yes you could glue a 32gb SSD to a 1tb HD and it would be cheaper and more functional than a SSHD

What mouse should I get if I want
>Basic features
>Reliable, long lasting buttons, wheel
>Low Cost
>Good quality
>Currently in Production
>>61016040
sounds like a generic office mouse
>>61016080
Sure but any specific models or brands?
I would go for a cheap Microsoft one but they rarely have back/forward buttons
>>61016104
I mean not really. If all you're looking for is simplicity and reliability thats pretty much every generic HP, Dell or Lenovo mouse. Which isn't a bad thing.
>back and forward buttons
I know dell mice come with this

I have been with Sprint for over ten years. My phone plan used to be really good, but now it is not as competitive. I would feel bad leaving Sprint because I have had good experiences with Sprint('s pricing).
I sort of wanted to go to T-Mobile and get some Chinese phone or world phone, because I like to buy phones and not lease/contract them
Not sure though, as Sprint customer service usually helps me out in tight spots since I have been with them so long.
What does /g/ think about this?
What carrier (USA or abroad) do you use?
>Being on the objectively worst carrier
>Staying on the objectively worst carrier for 10 years
>Not wanting to leave the objectively worst carrier
Unless you're in the one city where Sprint is capable of covering more than just the 10 yards around their cell towers and never leave that spot ever you have no reason to stick with them. If you're so concerned about price just go with an AT&T MVNO

I live next to their world HQ and KC has good sprint coverage due to that. Also the latest sprint stuff rolls out here first since, you know, HQ
