What do you guys think our future society would be like when almost all jobs could be automated?

Scary, really fucking scary
>>
Automation is inevitable, that's for sure. The answer to your question depends on the extent we are going to automate the jobs. Let's say we replace all the most dangerous labour jobs like miners with robotechnics. Government will push for legislation to create jobs at the same rate as they are replaced. However, that's going to be impossible if the majority of jobs are replaced (and let's be honest AIs and robots will be able to do anything from manufacturing to creative jobs way better than humans in the future) than we will have to "pay" people. Universal income is one solution and it is going to be viable one when all the countries become fully developed (like Europe).
Our population is predicted to plateau at 8bln by 2030. By that time poverty and poorness should be at its lowest as the Universal income is used worldwide
>>
>>61038799
I work in a auto factory and automation is shit and won't be ready until way after I'm dead. Robots constantly go down and it's cheaper to pay 1000 people to do.a job than it is to build 8000 robot arms and have to reprogram it every year for the new models.

Would you pay for a browser?
Let's sat it provides the speed of Blink and the flexibility of Firefox (not dumbed down versions of it) and no tracking whatsoever, but you'll have to pay for it about $1 per month. Would you do it?

Jesus christ these password restrictions are utterly retarded. It's not even checking if its identical with the user name but it's simply disallowing the password because it has "@" in it. That's fucking ridiculous.

All this fucking trouble to download a video. Why can't these cunts just allow downloading the files without registering?

A question for all the gtx 980 owners out there, how do your overclocks look? I managed to push it this far and it reaches 82C max with a temp limit 85C. Is this overclock considered too low?

Im a teen that is trying to get into programming as a head start for college. So far I love what I have done. I want to be both a game dev and a programmer in general for work when the time comes. Everytime I start learning again, I fall off the horse and take long breaks because I cant find efficient places to learn. Im learning c# but I cant follow youtube videos because they just teach you one thing, not how to actually use the methods they are teaching. I have yet to find a good website or websites to be able to learn and keep me coming. Id really appreciate some advice for successful programmers. Thanks my fellow friends.

I'd suggest you start with a little project, let's say standard atuff: build a simple calculator. You learn about GUI, basic math operations, click handlers, maybe events, maybe attach a little sqlite database for storing history. Search and learn as you go.

There are a few books out there that teach you how to build small games in XNA step by step. This is literally what you're looking for.

Disregard any other shit advice on /g/.

So now that Google has bought the IP rights to the fingerbox and they plan to automate it, what can we expect in the future for this wonderful product?

Yeah, I get that they could make the perfect fingerbox, but is it worth the cost of your privacy?
I don't share exactly how I masturbate with google, and this is about as private and personal as that, so I don't think their data collection is something I'd accept.

The ThinkPad meme has nothing to do with the brand. It's about buying cheap, used business-class laptops. The X1 doesn't fit into any of this criteria.

If you want a virus, just go to /aco/ or /d/ and look for one of the game threads. Download a couple of random files, and take a look at what you find. It's a random grab bag of malware.

so theres this website "Hack forum" and on there they sell peoples hacked accounts. stuff like netflix, hulu, nba, nfl, crunchyroll, and a bunch of other stuff. even cable subscriptions to like directv and xfinity. obviously your just sharing it with someone without them knowing about it. my question is... how do these people get a hold of other peoples usernames and passwords? not interested in doing it myself, just curious. is the security of these websites that weak?

i bought an nfl league pass for about $2 US just to check it out and it worked for the entire season so its not scam. although if the owner changes their password your fucked unless the seller is nice enough to give you another account to keep their rep up

The average age of the user on there has to be around 13 yrs old. I used to post on there when I was like 12 but no one was interested in anything but RATS and fucking runescape hacks or roblox or minecraft or whatever games.

holy shit dont get me started on comcast.

I just switched from AT&T to comcast about 2 months ago w/ contract.

As soon as my comcast service started my home email server and web server went down.

Comcast filters all in/out port 25 and all incoming port 85 for residential customers.

Their website says port 25 and 80 are blocked to stop spammers but you can enable them by request:

I called the number provided

They will enable by request. Or more specifically, if you request that your account be upgraded to business class where your bill triples, then they will allow you to have a home email or web server

pisses me off. nothing I do is commerical, im a freaking uni student and I like to do IT projects to put on a resume
