Sick of procrastinating on my side project /g/

How to adequately plan milestones etc?

I find it really hard to set goals and measure progress when the answer to "when should I have this done" is always yesterday.

Am I alone? How do you deal with this? Any tools or tricks?

By stopping complicating yourself with digital garbage and realizing that the analog way is superior.

Sure. I wasn't necessarily looking for a digital system - what system of organisation do you use for your notebook/planner?

>Using open source garbage in 2017

http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/06/kmail-pgp-plain-text-bug

LMAO, I thought you guys learned to don't use hobbyist shit for critical important tasks.

Didn't you retards learned anything afte the OpenSSL fiasco?

Just because something is "open source" doesn't mean the code has been reviewed by all the cyber security experts in the world. If it happened to something like OpenSSL that is used by fortune 500 companies of course it also happens for open source software written by literally who's.

Lunix ecosystem is a fucking joke.

everyone knows that the correct way to send encrypted email is not to let the email client (local or webmail) try to do it for you. You use PGP (or some other system) manually and paste the ciphertext in like you would a regular plaintext mail.

So I'm planning on building a new PC. My budget is ~500, and it probably shows. Any criticisms or recommendations? I still need an OS, speakers, and a monitor.

At least go with AMD if you're just gonna get the Pentium anyways. You can get a much better processor for about the same price.
>>
>>61096521
Though the frequency of the pentium has some power to it, it'll start to heat up fast with that 1050Ti. Atleast I would imagine. I could be absolutely wrong lad.

What is the simplest way to parse an HTML page that's only accessible after logging in /g/ ?

I only used Python scripts before, but I imagine that this time I'll have to handle all the login and cookie aspect myself, so I figured it would be simpler to let the browser do it.

Are extensions like Tampermonkey the way to go ?

beautifulsoup if you like python
>>
>>61096141
Selenium. You can also POST to the page with requests and parse the results with bs4.
>>
>>61096165
I already use that, the problem is the login part.

>>61096183
Will try, thank you

I am writing a short paper about touchscreens for university and I thought that this might provoke some interesting autism-less discussion here on /g/.

Right now I'm on the history part of touchscreens and I have written down that they have existed as early as 1973 in CERN, later popping up in point-of-sale systems, Casio calculators and so on through the 80s and 90s.

But what was your first experience using a touchscreen, /g/? Mine was pic related and I feel like it was probably the earliest widespread piece of technology with an integrated touchscreen, predating the iPhone.

It'd be nice to see 16:10, but unless it's a high res 4:3 screen, I wouldn't have enough room to have decent usable side-by-side windows.

This is an experimental BSD thread for anyone willing to discuss, help newbies or learn more about BSD in general.

I'll start. Who here uses TrueOS, and how stable and secure is the FreeBSD-CURRENT branch for desktop system which TrueOS is based on? Is there also any GELI or LUKS equivalent on OpenBSD for FDE of file systems and swap? I'm considering using either on my desktop at home.

I've heard vaguely about that, but I don't know how it works, what crypto algorithms it uses, and if it works with swap. Is there also any eCryptfs/PersonaCrypt equivalent, btw?
