I agree. I use Debian with XFCE on every single one of my computers except my phones and my laptop, which dual boots OS X and Fedora Security Labs. Debian is the best general purpose distro.
>>61141172
Who has the nsa helped more, Debian or Ubuntu? My vote is Ubuntu but wouldn't touch debian either

The NSA contributes a lot to open source projects because it uses them. Why would they bite that hand that feeds them? As long as their contributions are free and open source, who cares?

ATH M40 best fone
Anybody hace experience using the headphone out on a power amp? Is it a terrible idea? Thinking of either getting a schiit jotunheim+bifrost ($800), but the Marantz hm7005 ($900) has a phono stage, banana outs with 80 watts into 4 ohms, plus a dac and headphone out.
Point it, will the hm7005 still sound good with headphones? Planning on buying th900s, dt1990s or lcd-x eventually.
>>61134147
The headphone outs on stereo receivers generally are afterthoughts. Might not be shit but don't expect it to be as good as an amp which was designed for headphones in the first place.
How hard would it be to port?
get fucked ioscuck

is this real life?
Remember when Firefox said they were dedicated to making their new add-on system as compatible with the old as possible?
Only one of these add-ons will work by the end of the year. Why the fuck am I even using this shitty browser?
Use PaleMeme or fork Firefox yourself, the change they're making is stupid bullshit but that's why free software is good.

I uh.. I think it may be time to upgrade.. I heard Ryzen is good?? Is it coming to laptops any time soon?
>>61148052
Soon(tm). Q3 2017.
>>61148052
threadripper will be in alienware ones, ryzen will likely be in a few but the mass laptop use will come with the apus.
>>61148080
Threadripper in Alienware? Why...
I'm not sure if this is a /tv/, /pol/, or /g/ question.
Just finished watching the San Junipero episode on Black MIrrors. What would the San Junipero system in real life be like?
Basically in the show it's like this
>The dead's consciousness is placed in a massive computer system which recreates different eras to live in. (1987 party town, etc)
>The dead can choose to no longer feel pain
>Everything regenerates if broken.
I feel like in reality all that would happen is people running around killing/fucking each other since there would be no repercussions.
The whole idea was seriously half baked and only hinted at in small intervals in favor of telling a lesbian love story (which was still alright)
What does /g/ think? Would this even be possible?
>>61148045
>"Would this even be possible"
>he doesn't know where his consciousness is right now

"Today, June 29th 2017, WikiLeaks publishes documents from the OutlawCountry project of the CIA that targets computers running the Linux operating system. OutlawCountry allows for the redirection of all outbound network traffic on the target computer to CIA controlled machines for ex- and infiltration purposes. The malware consists of a kernel module that creates a hidden netfilter table on a Linux target; with knowledge of the table name, an operator can create rules that take precedence over existing netfilter/iptables rules and are concealed from an user or even system administrator."

t. pajeet defending the latest windows exploit
>>61147498
>The installation and persistence method of the malware is not described in detail in the document; an operator will have to rely on the available CIA exploits and backdoors to inject the kernel module into a target operating system. OutlawCountry v1.0 contains one kernel module for 64-bit CentOS/RHEL 6.x; this module will only work with default kernels. Also, OutlawCountry v1.0 only supports adding covert DNAT rules to the PREROUTING chain.
>No actual major exploit is used by the malware
>this module will only work with default kernels
so literally nothing
Wtf one exploit meanwhile windows is literally designed for surveillance
I am a stagnant noob. Is this being a C# inheritance dumdum? Like using all the time..Newfriend friend = new Newfriend(some, gibberish);
>>61147495
>not C tic tac toe
No, this only creates a new instance of Newfriend.
>>61147495
I have never worked with C#. Why does that non-pointer need a heap allocation?
You wot?
You're just making a new Newfriend class, there's no inheritance involved that we can see.
You're probably thinking of polymorphism where you can do
>ParentClass butts = new ChildClass();
