I want to rip my purchased DVDS to put on my personal media server. I only want to do this once, and rip my dvds in the best quality possible,(and maybe subtitles into srt files)
I have moderate experience using handbrake.
What are noob mistakes to avoid?
I want mkv or mp4 files preferably. No ISO files.
idc about dvd menus or extra features.
I am mainly ripping a tv series DVD.

Anyone else use ZorinOS? I've fucked around with it for a couple of days and finally got everything working (with a shit ton of workarounds).
I really like how the Window Manager and File Manager work together so I can actually copy and paste files back and forth without using a terminal... Why can't other Ubuntu based distros do this?

Can thermal generators be built anywhere to power anything?
Im really trying to figure out how practical they are for a specific purpose.
I used to design bunkers and survival shelters and the like on paper, just for fun. I used to handle the power by tossing a big circle on the paper and labeling it as a thermal generator, imagining it goes way deep down into the earth.
I'm making some plans right now, as I was inspired by the movie "The Island" with a huge underground facility.
The one I'm designing is similar in population, perhaps thousands. For the preservation of humanity or something. If financial resources weren't a concern, could thermal generators power such a complex entirly, preventing the need for returning to the surface?

Would you believe me if I told you that Apple remotely sends commands to older versions of their hardware, be it phones laptops, etc that cause them to overheat more quickly and more often in order to break them and force you to buy the latest version?
