If you want help:
>Assemble your parts list
https://pcpartpicker.com/
>How to assemble a PC, select components & more (kind of outdated)
https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php?title=Build_a_PC
>State the budget for your build (and country if not the USA).
>List games/software you use often, as well as your monitor resolution + refresh rate.
>Clarify your goal for build improvements: lower price or improved specs?
CPUs:
>G4560 - Budget builds (<$500)
>R5 1400 - if you can't afford better or specifically need 8 threads but not a very powerful CPU
>R5 1500x - Decent but up to 1600 if you can
>R5 1600 - Best value for higher fps gaming / mixed usage; 1600x if you want higher stock clocks
>i7 7700k - only for 144hz
>R7/Xeon/Threadripper - Compute/Multitask/mixed use; Not required for just gaming
GPUs:
Coin miners have driven price up and stock down, waiting to buy a GPU might be wiser
>Integrated CPU Graphics - Desktop stuff and very light games
>GTX 1050(Ti) - Lower end budget cards, drop settings on newer games, RX560 beaten by both
>RX570 - 1080p@60~hz maxed, running most maxed older games at 100~Hz
>RX580 and GTX1060 6GB - 1080p@80hz maxed, 1440p@60hz at lower settings; RX580 better in newer games
>GTX 1070 - 1080p@130hz /1440p@60hz at high
>GTX 1080 - 1080p@144hz / 1440p@60hz maxed, 4k@60hz in a few games; Probably the highest end card you need for 1080p/1440p
>GTX 1080Ti - 1440p@144hz and 4k@60hz maxed/high in many games
RAM:
>Check your Mobo QVL before buying any RAM
>Ryzen CPUs benefits from high speed RAM
General:
ALWAYS LOOK AT PRODUCT REVIEWS!
Always consider an SSD. Try buying a large SSD for what you'd pay for your SSD+HDD combined, and add a HDD later
NVMe SSDs aren't for a faster OS boot, they're for productivity/scratch disk/VMs. NVMe and M.2 are not the same thing, M.2 is a form factor.
The Ryzen lineup comes with exceptionally good stock coolers. (with the exception of the 1600X) consider using them over any sub 35USD cooler.

we don't know anon

How about these?
http://greentextarchive.org/
The Greentext Archive is a website that me and some people on /x/ recently put up to preserve greentext stories, and to categorize them.
We currently need people to post more greentexts and categorize them(the infrastructure is finished for the most part), which you can do through our forums(we run a danbooru instance).
Thank you for your time!
So, literally that 4chan subrebbit?
Not just scrape archives for anything with X number of consecutive right carats at the start of a line? You do know regex, don't you?
>>61179089
It's semi-curated, and tagging by picking random keywords from a post doesn't seem like a great idea.
>>61179127
I thought it was supposed to be an archive, not a plebbit attraction.
Is there a way to connect a SIM to your computer and send and recive text messages via your computer?
I am not looking for some webapage where i can send texts, i want to be able to use my own SIM.
Ssh into your phone and send it that way.
Only a nigger wants to do what you asked
My Latitude E4300 has a SIM slot, so i think it can at least have mobile broadband or something
>>61178950
Isnt there a cheaper way than buying a new phone for each sim card?
How do I force volume above 100% in windows 7?
Pic related, it's what I want to blast
vlc > advanced settings > find audio max > make 300 > set the volume to whatever
buy an amplifier
install openSUSE through the Windows app store and then in volume settings push the volume past 100%.

No fucking way, if I Google right now and it says otherwise I will fucking murder you OP for giving me a shock.
hey /g/, I'm getting tired of all this bs with github and want to migrate my projects to my own private repo. Any recommendations for hardware for a small server? I'll even use a Pi if it means being able to pull with decent speeds
also open to using VCS other than git
>>61178766
Literally anything.
then do it, endless guides for it. why feel the need to post here for validation?
>>61178766
Mercurial, is similar to git and comes with a server, just typehg serveand you start a server on localhost:8000
You might want to look at GNATS or fossil though (yes, there is Bugzilla too).
Stop using proprietary software.
>>61178757
but your shitty drivers and xorg dont support multihead
>>61178757
Stop using proprietary hardware then. Your open source freeware does nothing to protect you against the backdoor in your CPU
i make my own computer and use my own software.
How do you feel about RISC-V?

>India is pressing Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) to offer a sharply discounted one-time deal to the more than 50 million Windows users in the country so that they can upgrade to the latest Windows 10 operating system in the wake of ransomware attacks.
>Microsoft officials in India have "in principle agreed" to the request, Gulshan Rai, India's cyber security coordinator, told Reuters over the phone on Friday.
>A spokeswoman for Microsoft in India declined to comment on the matter. Officials at the company's headquarters in the United States and regional headquarters in Asia also declined to comment.
Seems like Pajeets can't even afford Winshit 10.
And these are the dumbfucks who you get when you call tech support?
One rupee has been deposited in your outhouse, pajeet. Start digging.
>>61178524
oh boy cant wait for ms making their own malware so they can loot tons of cash from governments when they have to upgrade
India wants windows gibs then it will sue ms for having a monopoly in India.
Is this really the best XLR under $100? I've looked around a bit, and this seems reliable.
>>61178498
no get a bm-800
>>61178498
>Is this really the best XLR under $100?
Not when the BM-800 exists
>he doesn't know about the bm-800
L O L
This is based on how many CPU benchmarks are being done by one app.
Intel shills will use this argument to discredit it, while ignoring the fact that it accurately paints all the past marked shares extremely accurately.
Wtf I love AyyMD now

Welp boys I fell for the meme. I'm a professional programmer now. I've been working at a large university for about a month now as a in-house developer of university applications. On paper, it's a great job.
Problem is, I'm bored as shit at work. I'm bored to the point of pain.
Every day I come into work and I have 9 hours of sitting at a desk in front of me. I have little human interaction during the day and frankly I'm just fucking bored a lot. I feel despair knowing how much time I have left until I can leave the office and go home.
The boredom stresses me out.
How do you guys cope with this? The job pays well, I'm good at it, and is essentially what I wanted to do for years. It would be silly for me to leave. What's my problem?
Do you guys feel this way at your jobs? How do you cope?
>>61178366
What exactly do you program? What kind of applications are they?
What language?
How did you get the job?
How much experience?
Etc.
we need more info OP
I cope by revelling in the fact that I get paid to shitpost on 4chan. I do 5 hours of actual work a week. the rest of the time is just ingenious ways to waste time
>>61178385
>What exactly do you program? What kind of applications are they?
Web applications.
>What language
Javascript, node.js and angular 2 particularly,
>How did you get the job?
Web application and then interview.
>How much experience?
I was working at a startup for a year before this. Graduated with bachelor last spring.
It's paying 75k which is more than I've been offered anywhere else.
I think part of my problem is most of my coworkers are in their 40s and I feel like I don't relate with them much. Also I may have some depression issues.
I'm getting old /g/
All you young kids are just little twats running around. Makes me fucking sick.
There used to not be debian. There used to not be slackware. You'd have to go pay for a copy of unix and spend days installing it with no google.
But you had professional documentation
>>61178504
You had to go buy that shit.
my first linux was a boxed copy of mandrake from CompUSA
