What is the best /sec/ language to learn first?
>>61194782
My advice might be a bit outdated but python was a good first language for me and I still use it when I need to throw something together ASAP.
>>61194818
Thanks, I thought so.
AMD vega went into production with a fatal hardware flaw in which the only fix was to hardcode a part of the bios to not use that part of the chip. The resulting card was an emergency "pro" model card that performs well in certain tasks but has very poor geometry performance.
AMD RX vega had the die changed to eliminate the flaw and this is why the cards have been delayed as long as they have.

My sister is a typical normie when it comes to tech, and is fucking horrible at taking care of her computers. She has broken several laptops became they get clogged up with makeup dust from her watching youtube videos on Stacy whore makeup application in the bathroom. Her white chromebook is tan due to all the fucking makeup dust, and has a giant fucking crack in it. My mom has had to buy her a replacement twice in the past year.
She needs a laptop for med school because the kikes who made the exam software require windows. I got put in charge of picking out a laptop for her birthday, so naturally she is going to be getting a thinkpad.
I'm leaning towards a t420 right now, maybe an x230. Naturally I will be putting an SSD/RAM/etc in it so it will function as a good laptop, but I want to document the disappointment and rage as she realizes we aren't shelling out $2000 for apple faggotry that she will end up breaking in a year.
Has anyone on this board done something similar (buying a thinkpad for their normie family members who wanted a macbook)? Need some stories or advice. I will post updates in the next few weeks.

I got all my friends hooked up with thinkpads and they're all happy I saved them money. Get one for you sister. If she ends up disappointing, tell her this is the best choice for someone who's incapable of taking care of his belongings.

why are you using an outdated UI g?
>>61185065
why would i want to change the look & layout of 4chan?
You mean some of the most popular websites are designed for mouse and keyboard instead of sausage fingers?
Who'd a thunk it?
Because in some cases it's better to be functional instead of some art-project. Very pretty sites usually have in common that usability and speed takes the back-seat.
There's not been a /retro/ thread for a while, let's have one.
I've been working on this pos and it's almost working, but it keeps bitching about hard the hard drive.
>>61184801
I agree, time for /retro/.

Also pulled off an LGR recently and built a nice 486 box.

Is FOSS still that important in 2017?
It's not tomorrow that we will have FOSS based autonomous cars and nobody cares that much. Moreover big IT companies are creating AI to develop their own quantum systems with their own languages.

What the fuck? I did too.
Hey /g/ do you know any good places to find epubs? I always stumble on shitty PDFs and I find it harder and harder to find any *cough*copyrighted*cough* content online. I should start looking for private trackers, I got lots of shit to seed but cannot get any invites from anywhere. Any suggestions? Thx fellow anons
>>61206569
Libgen and irc are generally sufficient for everything
>>61206594
Any IRC servers / channels to suggest for epubs? I used to fish for movies and mp3s but it's been a while.
Libgen looks amazing for public domain
>>61206569
Myanonamouse, you could try to get into bibliotik, by MAM is pretty comfy. It's a good tracker to be in, just learn the rules
If you can't get into MAM you have problems
>>61206635
Libgen has so much more than the public domain. We don't talk about libgen.
hey I know its not my personal request website but I have to hand it in tomorrow and I dont know wtf is wrong, its probably a shitty mistake any tips?
