About to finish the bachelor degree in CS, i'm gonna do a master of science in Computer science and engineering. What subjactes are most lucrative and should i specialize in?
What i like the most (not by a wide margin though) is software engineering but doesn't seem to be payed as good as other stuff.

grammar.
>>61217116
sorry man, obviously i need to improve my english. Shouldn't it be correct though? Like, what should you focus on, in the it world?
probably mobile development honestly, millenials are starting to use phones more than computers, and the hardware capacity just isn't there yet to be able to handle unstable, bloated poojeet code. it's the last frontier in terms of programming under real constraints
Is it true that if you learn one (programming) language you learned them all?
>>61216705
If that programming language is C, sure.
>>61216705
Only if that one programming language is C.
No, if you learn programming it's just easier to adapt to different languages.
Learning a language does not make you a programmer.
Where did this "if you're connected to the internet, the NSA automatically has access to every file on your computer" meme come from? Are computers magic now?
>>61216702
Google Intel ME.
>>61216759
Any proof NSA has access to it? What about AMD or ARM chipsets? What about a librebooted intel computer?
>>61216792
no proof, just a bunch of virgins fear mongering so you go out and buy AYYYYMD hardware and hate intel along with hating google and every other company that isn't open source trash
Explain to my peasant brain why did the R9 390 and the fury have such low clocks? was the memory supposed to save the entire card?
Because the architecture was already very hot and high in power consumption, so higher clockspeeds were not realistic
>>61216677
i know i used to have an XFX R9 390, sadly it died before i could sell it to miners for a shit ton of money
>>61216677
If you were to buy a board with super beefy VRM and watercool it, how much could you push it?
Thots on "Sonnet"?
How dumb is it?
>Will not work unless a good amount of people around your area have one
>""""FREE""" Internet, but in reality it's just leaching of other peoples wi-fi
>Very limited usefulness. How often do you not have a connection? And if you're hiking up in a mountain, how certain is it that there is enough people around you that have one?
>Why MUST people even be connected with their phone constantly? Do we not go outside on hikes to disconnect a bit?
Only see the usefulness in this if it was integrated in your phone. I have no faith that this will become a thing.
>>61216546
Literally useless.
After checking their page out I have an idea that they are way up their own ass. Would probably only work when everyone or atleast a huge amount of people have one. It should be intergrated in phones for it to be actually usefull
>>61216546
It's dumb. Get long range walkie talkies instead.
I just bought raspberry pi 3.
What can I do? Can you recommend me some cool projects for summer?
>buying shit before you know what to do with it
>>61216532
build a bomb
>>61216551

why don't you install linux from scratch in hyper-v on your tablet pc /g/?
soon as I can figure out how to move all my C:/ from a laptop to an NVME SSD then I can use the laptop to LFS on the VM senpai
>>61216491
because I wasn't dumb enough to get a tablet in the first place
>from scratch
Post yfw you don't care what OS you use as long as it runs what you need

On my phone, I use the open source email client which connects to my work exchange server.
For private matters, I use nextcloud + caldav.
I would like to know a good solution for my desktop though.
Right now I use korganizer

I do know about the jewtel compiler gimp and that (specially during netburst era) but this is too much, i mean 162 fps if the cl_device_vendor is detected as Intel vs 52 fps if it isn't?, why the hell then someone could even take that shit benchmark serious?
>>61216204
Why would anyone take any benchmark serious in the year 2017?

Con Kolivas, a former Linux kernel developer,
compared some OpenSolaris kernel code to Linux code
and was surprised at the difference in code quality:[14]
The summary of my impression [after reading the OpenSolaris code]
was that I was... surprised....the [OpenSolaris] code, as I saw it,
was neat. Real neat. Extremely neat.
In fact, I found it painful to read after a while.
It was so neatly laid out that I found myself admiring it.
It seems to have been built like an aircraft.
It has everything that opens and shuts,
has code for just about everything I've ever seen considered on a scheduler,
and it's all neatly laid out in clean code and even comments.
It also appears to have been coded with an awful lot of effort to ensure it's robust and measurable,
with checking and tracing elements at every corner.
I started to feel a little embarrassed by what we have as our own [Linux] kernel.
The more I looked at the [OpenSolaris] code,
the more it felt like it pretty much did everything the Linux kernel has been trying to do for ages.
Not only that, but it's built like an aircraft, whereas ours looks like a garage job with duct tape by comparison....[
OpenSolaris] looks like an excellent design for a completely different purpose.
It's built like a commercial design for commercial purposes that have very different requirements than what most of us use Linux for,
but it does appear to have been done so very well.
It looks like a goddamn Star Destroyer,
and the Linux kernel (scheduler) suddenly looks like the Millennium Falcon.
Real fast, but held together with duct tape, and ready to explode at any minute.
then why is solaris such a massive piece of shit?
>>61216168
>Solaris
>Developed by experienced UNIX devs and engineers
>Linux
>Developed by a Finnish student
>>61216221
then why is Open Indiana such a massive piece of shit?
AFAIK, the only thing a site can do is use robots.txt to ask the racist, sexist, bigoted archive sites to stop archiving them. But robots.txt is voluntary and sites can just tell Vice to fuck themselves, right? Is there anything else they can actually do to fight the "violence" against "ethical journalism"?
Is there a legal issue? Would it be copyright infringement if archive.is disregards the robots.txt?
>waybackmachine is right wing
what the fuck? what is this about?
Blaming the completely wrong people
This is fake. Funny, but fake.
