Hey /g/ i am building a small website for my business. Nothing fancy just some pics and basic information/articles.

Should i use CMS like Joomla and use pagebuilder plugin?
Or try handcoding it myself?
Or hire someone else to do it for me?

I dont really have time to do coding by myself because i work fulltime

Welp it's a personal choice anon.

I too work full time and I wrote my own website. Took me forever though, not so much because of job but because I had a gf and an over active social life.

I'd suggest outsourcing the initial grunt work to some pajeet for cheap then just tweak it to your liking after. (Assuming you have the knowledge to do so)

But if he needs just some basic landing page - why use precious time coding when he could just use some cms and drag and drop

As long as Plan 9 remains GPL there is no reason not to try it. I blame the lack of popularity on not using GPL sooner.

This isn't a tech support question per se, I'm asking more of a meta-question.

I have a late-2013 Macbook Pro, fully loaded. It's been great to me so far. Around a month ago it started shutting off randomly, completely random hangs and then the fans would rev up up up and then shut down. Sometimes it would straight turn black, sometimes it would hang. Turning it back on was always difficult after, it sometimes would turn back off again immediately, sometimes it would turn off within 5 minutes.

I tried troubleshooting it - did a fresh install of my OS with no programs. It happened again. I took it to the """Genius""" bar and they did the pleb-diagnostic and it came back clean. That's when I got confused.

I reloaded my old backup OS/setting and tried the fan controller app. I felt like it was running hot, and also it had fan issues in the past. It was running hot and the fans weren't cooling anything.

Long story short, it's out of AppleCare, so I took it to the """Genius""" bar again and told them the story and said I'll have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. I told them I think it's a heat/fan/motherboard issue but I can't isolate it or recreate it and that it just shuts down randomly. The guy did the pleb-diagnostic and it came back clean but he took my word for it and took in my (only) laptop in for ten days.

I don't hear ANYTHING from them until they email me last night telling me to pick it up. I called them twice over the last week and they said they were "still doing tests", which I'm certain was that they hadn't gotten to it yet.

I pick up my laptop today and they tell me they replaced the heatsink and bottom frame, I was initially quoted that they were going to replace the motherboard (logic board) as well and it was going to cost me like $650 total. So I paid a lot less and accepted it.

Tonight it shut off twice again, same symptoms.

What are my options here?

I'm a poor college student looking for a <$800 laptop that I can use for school and also run basic games like league or overwatch on. I was thinking about the Lenovo ideapad 7000 or th3 Dell inspiron 7559. What would be better/are there any better options?

I'm not even level 30 yet because I stopped playing almost 8 months ago because my current laptop shit the bed and can't run it

So I got a nice windfall of $8000 from cashing out my memecoins I mined in 2013 and I want to replace my aging shitpad with this. The 15'' touchbar 17 rmbp.

Should I just go for it? Are there better options out there for around $2500?

I still love my shitpad and I'll be passing it along with a family member. It's got a 1080p high gamut panel, the battery lasts like 8 hours and I got 4 of them so I never have to charge it.

If you want help:
>Assemble your parts list
https://pcpartpicker.com/
>State the budget for your build (and country if not the USA).
>List games/software you use often, as well as your monitor resolution + refresh rate.
>Clarify your goal for build improvements: lower price or improved specs?
How to assemble a PC, select components & more (kind of outdated)
https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php?title=Build_a_PC

CPUs:
>G4560 - Budget builds (<$500)
>R5 1500x - Good but up to 1600 if you can
>R5 1600 - Best value for higher fps gaming / mixed usage; 1600x if you want higher stock clocks
>i7 7700k - only for your wifes son
>R7/Xeon/Threadripper - Compute/Multitask/mixed use; Not required for just gaming

GPUs:
Coin miners have driven price up and stock down, waiting to buy a GPU might be wiser
>Integrated CPU Graphics - Desktop stuff and very light games
>GTX 1050(Ti) - Lower end budget cards, drop settings on newer games, RX560 beaten by both
>RX570 - 1080p@60~hz maxed, running most maxed older games at 100~Hz
>RX580 and GTX1060 6GB - 1080p@80hz maxed, 1440p@60hz at lower settings; RX580 better in newer games
>GTX 1070 - 1080p@130hz /1440p@60hz at high
>GTX 1080 - 1080p@144hz / 1440p@60hz maxed, 4k@60hz in a few games; Probably the highest end card you need for 1080p/1440p
>GTX 1080Ti - 1440p@144hz and 4k@60hz maxed/high in many games

RAM:
>Check your Mobo QVL before buying any RAM
>Ryzen CPUs benefits from high speed RAM

General:
ALWAYS LOOK AT PRODUCT REVIEWS!
Always consider an SSD. Try buying a large SSD for what you'd pay for your SSD+HDD combined, and add a HDD later
NVMe SSDs aren't for a faster OS boot, they're for productivity/scratch disk/VMs. NVMe and M.2 are not the same thing, M.2 is a form factor.
The Ryzen lineup comes with exceptionally good stock coolers. (with the exception of the 1600X) consider using them over any sub 35USD cooler.

Pebbles were too good. They realized battery life and a readable display with good controls to consume notifications were good. A shame they ran out of money before making the Pebble Time 2.
