AMD and Intel shills fighting.
Share your knowledge of where we can find these bins (Montreal for me, or wherever):
Those big cardboard bins (or similar) around 4^3ft where anyone can dump any sized electronics to recycle.
I've found 6 of these around Montreal and I've brought home all sorts of free things, LCD screens, HDD's, RAM, laptops, desktops, PSU's, mice, cables, you name it.
I can share some locations and I hope others will too.
>>61412719
Where did you find these?
I'm in montreal too
>>61412719
lucky iceback, I wish we had this here next door to you.
So you're fucking stealing from recycle bins, eh? You scumsucking piece of shit, don't you have anything better to do with your life, anything at all?
Post your screenfetches guys!

THANKS FOR NOT HAVING GAY FUTAS ONCE IN A FUCKING WHILE
>v1.7.13, the latest, and probably the last release of our project…
>For quite a few months now, or even years, the number of active developers has been decreasing and has inevitably reached zero. This, unfortunately, means that the project is officially dead and this release would be the last one.
>…Unless some people step up that is.
>So, if someone’s willing to really contribute and has C/C++ experience, let me know on IRC or via e-mail.
>Otherwise, all things come to an end and life goes on. It’s been a nice journey and I’m personally pretty overwhelmed having to write this post.
>Thanks to everyone who has contributed in any way all these years; Remember, MPC-HC is an 11-year old project.

Damn.
What's a good alternative when it inevitably becomes obsolete?
VLC is bloated and slow and WMP is garbage.
Why don't they release the source code so the community can pick it up?
Got a Thinkpad X60 from work and wanted to refurb and resell it. Entered the BIOS and saw this message pop up. How fucked am I?
give it back obama
>>61412355
not sure how bios write protection affects flashing libreboot but with this message I'd give trannyboot a try as having an actual message of being traced is reason enough.
DEFCON 69
So I've completely Un-Googled my phone with alternative open source apps with one exception: navigation.
I cant for the life of me find a decent open source navigation app. I tried the usual recommendation of Osmand...but it couldn't even find my house address in a major US city.
What navigation app does /g/ use to escape the botnet that actually has decent navigation?
Im seriously about to go back to manually printing out MapQuest maps if I cant find one
>>61412298
gentoo maps
waze?
>>61412332
Google bought Waze a few years ago
What text editor do you guys use
I've started to use nano but i'm looking for something that looks good and gets the job done, with gui please.
>>61412121
I use Vim only because I can't stop using it.
>>61412168
I use Emacs for the same reason
>>61412121
gvim. Doesn't look great but doesn't look completely like ass and definitely gets the job done.
How do I fix this
Stop being fat. Next time the gas cylinder will break and enter your ass at speed.
Buy a new chair or replace the gas cylinder if you feel inclined to attempt it.

Lose weight
>If I buy a macbook air will I finally be a normie?
these days ...
to be a normie on /g/ you need a thinkpad (newer than a '30 series) and a reddit account with plenty of karma :^)
No, you will be a faggot.
as long as it has f keys you will be a fucking normie now leave
Alright, real talk, are the packages on Debian as outdated as some people here claim they are?
>real talk
fbi please
>>61411638
Yes unless you use the Unstable version.
>>61411638
Latest software is not the point of Debian though. They use older, but thoroughly tested and stable version of software. You don't install Debian to stay on the bleeding edge. You install Debian to have a rock-stable OS.

Do you guys save the boxes on your electronics? I feel like a hoarder but I always feel like I'll need them again someday.
Ya, it helps with resale for some reason if you still have the original packaging
>>61411463
I keep them at least until the warranty expires, but in practice I keep all the boxes for organizational purposes in case I need a backup part. I still have space in the basement to keep that shit, but if it ever starts to get unorganized I will throw some shit out.
>>61411463
Just motherboard boxes and GPUs because I usually buy new ones and resell the old ones which is easier to do with the boxes.
give me legitimate reasons why you would need more than this
>>61411310
No.
>>61411310
you aren't a manchild and use your CPU for non-gaymen reasons such as compilation and virtualization
>>61411310
because more coars
especially since you can actually make use of them these days
converted all my 320 mp3's to FLAC.
