You can buy a computer for like $5 that runs modern web pages just fine you dumb Reddit cunt.
When you're at the point that if you wanted to upgrade your pc, you'd have to upgrade the motherboard.
>whatever, don't care
>2 weeks later ports start failing/lagging
>Try to update chipset drivers
>chipset drivers basically says fuck off, get a new board
in my case replacing the mother board means is would have to get new ram, and power and power supply, and possibly cpu
Basically would have to fucking buy a new computer aside from my memory.
Any of you good fellows of /g/ happen to know good motherboards to recommend?

Dear Bitdefender Customer Care Team,
When users install your software, then "SSL injector" of program is automatically enabled. That function replaces original ssl certification with your verification, this is the problem. This isn't the "security solution" this is a ssl layer hacking! Who and why trust your certification, where one has already been. By the way, this is a man in the middle attack, because the connection is encrypted with false certification before it is crypted well and sent.
Best wishes, nexwo
Thank you, come again.

just got a new catagory!
Hey /g/
Can you recommend me some good non-apple dedicated MP3 players? My trust iPod touch is not what it used to be.
100-150 USD range.
There are a lot of cheap Chinese dedicated MP3 players that can take a 128 GB microSD card. Literally the card itself is worth more than the player. Just find one with some positive reviews to verify that it works and the people who bought it didn't get chinked.

Do you have some direction to point me in? Brand names eg?

Yes, 1 stupid tutorial makes you an expert in a highly technical field. You know how the world works, buddy, enjoy being the new Musk.
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 (8 years old), but the keyboard is starting to fall apart. I'm interested in upgrading to a new laptop.
>relevant
I will only be playing games from 80s, 90s and 00s and emulating consoles from the same era. I am looking for something that is well designed in terms of ports and layout and very reliable. My current laptop hasn't been turned off in about 4 years and has had minimal problems.
>not relevant
I will be reformatting to a triboot of: windows 7 (for the games/emulators), openbsd (net), rhel (work).

not sure if this is the right board, but i am quite puzzled i have an HP envy 14-1211NR (LN051UA)
i purchased 16 gigs of ram for it, as far as i can tell the manufacturer didnt state that would be out of spec.
It's higher in clock frequency, but as far as i know that's just a rated speed the manufacturer will guarantee, so it should just clock itself down(as far as i can tell, it does to 10XX~mhz) the ram is rated at 1600, replacing the laptop's 1333mhz
the ram module itself i replaced i cant find the voltage on but the receiver says 1.5volt on it, which is precisely what the ram asks
(CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model CMSX16GX3M2A1600C1 )
Now the interesting part:
with the new ram installed, if i go directly to the BIOS, and it doesn't detect it, it detect the 6384 mbs that it had installed originally.(2+2+ the graphics 2 in a shared pool. i run the bios' memory test, and it passes, but does not change the number.
window's memory test it passes and runs no problem.
if i try to run windows, or memtest 86, it will boot for about 10 seconds and crash out.
ive tried doing a cmos reset, and it did reset the clock, but sure enough 6384 mbs of total memory detected.
HP's support software runs, i havent run it's memtest because it has an estimated run time of 8 hours 40 mins, i won't not do it, just not right now. but when i ask it for info, it says exactly what's in there the 16,XXX megs of ram, running at the 10XXmhz (that's how i know it's running that)
leaving me at a loss, the bios cant see the ram, but presumably everything else can.
ill probably let HP run its diagnostics, but my confidence isnt super high, i have tried reseating the ram with no luck, and ive tried putting the old ram in, boots no problem.
i don't think re-installing the OS won't help because as i mentioned before, it does the same crash when running of the removable disk/memtest86
pic somewhat related, it's in the same family

Is there still support in 2017?
>>61317916
Depends on your hardware. I just hackintosh'd my x220 and its not so bad.
>>61317916 It still works okay on anything from core2duo to kabylake. But overall is getting worse with every year. Clover development is stalled, core utils are still outdated, metal is DoA, 3rd party software quality is dropping. OSX is dying.
I love what I am doing but my work colleagues suck. Should I switch the company?
