How do I get this thing work. It worked fine last night then my wifi scheduler kicked on. I restarted the DL but it can't find any peers. I already deleted all files and removed to do a fresh DL but it still can't find peers.
How do I fix this?

Hi /g/, I know you are loving Linux and so am I, but today I have a few questions about windows development.
For starter I see that with build 1607 of windows I can use bash on ubuntu on windows which essentially adds a in a sense "fast to load vm" linux system on windows and with this system one could run linux commands on windows like say deploying a project on the windows file system to hadoop. Is this correct?
Also with the help of vagrant and docker one could have a virtual development system where one can install all the required libraries to run a project and thus even if you are on windows you an for example use python libraries that mianly run on linux. Is that correct?
If the above statement are both correct than one should be able to develop using python on virtually any operation system because one can visualize the running environment and use bash to run deployment and other scripts.
Am I correct, or am I missing something? Is there a smarter way to do what I just described? I am currently tinkering with docker because it seems to be like vagrant and maybe it could make my development platform independent.

That's the plan, deploying to hadoop and running python should work but in not so sure about docker. The Linux version of that depends on a bunch of kernel container stuff which Microsoft probably hasn't emulated.

"ubuntu on windows" is a Windows subsystem, much like coLinux or User Mode Linux (you can read about these on jimbopedia).
Basically it runs like a Windows application, not as a real OS in a virtual machine. This means it can be faster in some cases, but it has has limits like:
-not a real kernel: the "kernel" of UoW is a "compatibility layer"-like thing, developed by MS without any code from Linux. It is missing a lot of features like various filesystems, loop devices etc.
-no direct access to hardware, this means no native sound or graphic outout. You can set up a pulseaudio server on your windows and use xMing for an X server, but expect bugs and 0 acceleration
Anyway, testing it is quite safe. Try if it does the job you want it, if not then you can completely uninstall and disable it and install gnu+linux in a virtual machine later.

If it takes you more time than buying a new one, no.
We need a benchmark to test the stability of our DEs
How can that need be solved?
Would a very long sequence of UI operations suffice?

how do you define stability?

What's the best video editing software? I use Sony Vegas but it's so painfully slow and basic that is chore to use. Any better alternatives?
>>61436313
have to say that i don't use it at a professional level, but i normally use multiple video and audio layers at once.
>vegas
Vegas is dead. Adobe Premiere is better.

So you guys dont even use any design patterns do you? You've never programmed an Interceptor or a FilterChain. You spend your time impressing each-other with ever more esoteric implementations of linked lists, while all your actual business code is just a Big Ball of Mud?
>>61436309
If it's bigger than 1,000 lines, it doesn't exist.
>>61436309
I use more abstract patterns when I program in higher-level languages, but when I program C I usually work very close to the metal and therefore have a completely different programming style.
You don't need an AbstractInterceptorFactoryBuilder when you're just reading and writing to device registers.

I have switched everting from dedicated server to home and i am adding second server.
I have fiber 300 down-60 up, i tested everything. I been runing server with http, 2 virtual machines, node, mysql, cuda, python with over 99,5% uptime for 6 months.
Now i am moving xenserver to my second pc.
I am really tired of retarded polices of most of isp/hosting providers and only economical viable servers starts at 150 usd, and to be honest i feel quite good with simple raid1 and true 4 cores cpu. And my hobby and one comercial mini sass don't use any transfer but require enormous amount of ram.
I am really happy that all the thing i have are in containers and 1 docker instance, i feel hapy that i can move this shit anywhere including meme cloud
