I have a bunch of old cellphones that no longer work in my desk drawer. I've been afraid to throw them out because I don't want anybody to potentially get information off of them. What is the best way to permanently destroy on-board flash memory besides thermite? Producing and using thermite isn't feasible for my living situation.

Hey /g/, whats the best Software Compression Program available? I'm looking for a loseless comp but I can't find anything that can compress the original files to atleast 3/4 of it's original size. In tests I've done with Winrar and 7zip it usually gives anywhere like 90-95% of the original size. I'm looking to compress nearly 2TB of information.

I'm trying to boot another Linux distribution ISO from a self-bootable USB to install on this machine but am getting nowhere. I can't access the motherboard's BIOS to make things easier so am trying through terminal unsuccessfully.

Can anyone help?

Is this what you want? https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Multiboot_USB_drive
>>
I don't think so reading through it, is there a quick way to boot directly from the USB device on startup and format/install another distribution over this one?

I don't want multiple OS', only one. Thanks

I currently started fidgeting into this electronic wold of making cool crazy gadgets and now im learning on transformers
For what i know its just copper wires with a number of windings in different shapes, the one in the picture is the one i have in my hands, no labeling, yellow tape, six pins

So how do they work? how can i tell the input/output? what kind of model/type is it? If i tear this open what am i supposed to expect inside? If i can make a homemade transformer then whats the point on buying transformers?

the spec sheet should tell you

>> If i can make a homemade transformer then whats the point on buying transformers?
