VeraCrypt was recently audited.
dm-crypt probably has a lot of eyes on its code too.

I have self-diagnosed Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) and I consider myself a perfectionist. I currently use Windows 10 and whenever I have to change a setting in Windows 10 I find myself flipping through all of the settings in order from left to right, top-down. So if I were to say, disable App diagnostics in Privacy, I would go to through all the toggles in System, then Devices, then Network & Internet, and so on. Similarly, when I have to use a program I go through them in order that they appear on my desktop. So if I wanted to open VLC Media Player I would go through GIMP 2, then Google Chrome, then Malwarebytes, then Minecraft, then Mozilla Firefox, then Mozilla Thunderbird, then Nightly, qBittorrent, then Speccy, then Steam, and finally VLC Media Player. Shit is really tiring so I find myself limiting my amount of programs, which could work on Linux because Linux has less programs if I understand correctly? I also try to do all of my settings changes and program installations in one go so I don't have to keep going through what I have described, but this takes a really long time and I find myself finishing the next day even if I started way early in the morning. Not only that, but I actually meticulously plan out every installation, settings changes, and every backup on a piece of paper because I install the software. Hell, don't even get me started on how much the OCD kicks in when I'm building the PC. But that's irrelevant because I already built it and now I'm asking you if I should install Linux on it. My main concern with Linux is that it has a lot of ways, much more than Windows, in how to customize it to your needs. I know this is great but all those things that need changing and configurations.... I've already experienced how much time I've spent configuring MPV because I had to go through each one, one-by-one, top-down, just to change each setting. I'm afraid Linux might be worse.

Can you try again but in English, and also maybe get some professional assistance.
Did you seriously expect me to read all that?
>>61518241
>>61518251
I like customization, but it leads me to go through every setting and every program one-by-one before I customize.
is it possible to a hook an external harddrive to a smart phone?
OTG USB for Android.
Jailbroken iPhone with the iPad Camera Kit on iOS.
>>61518139
Probably not because it will lack power for spinup. If for some obscure reason the phone gives enough power - sure.
But then if you have NTFS or some macfag FS on your HDD you are fuged if there are no packaged drivers for your OS (Android?).
>>61518139
I've done it. one of my 2.5" enclosures has a 160GB exFAT formatted drive in it. It also has a separate plug for power so when it's used on my PC it needs 2 USB ports. When it's plugged up to my phone I simply use a spare Samsung or LG power adapter and plug it in there and it powers up and works fine.
what happens if I click it?
>>61517969
It would be extremely botnet
>>61517969
It says right there you dumbass...
That's a virus
Had it, too not sure how it came but I think it was installed by jdownloader

Just got a 5th gen iPod from ebay today. The listing was for a 5th gen but upon closer inspection in the About section it turned out to be a 5.5 gen. I paid $30 total, including shipping. Is this still a good media player in this day and age? It's only a 30 GB player but I plan on modding it for micro SD cards.
Also what media player do you use that is not a phone?
I have a 3rd or 4th gen iPod classic, the first colour ones that could show photos and videos(?), 120gb. Still works great.
>>61518047
How is the battery life on it? I never got to own an iPod but practically every other person I knew had one. My best friend about 10 years ago had a Zune. I thought that was the coolest media player.

Twink+twink, Twink+Jock, and Jock+Jock are the only acceptable forms of gay couples.

Clearly the work of jihad.
Seriously though, who cares what gay animal pairs form? I prefer other twinks sexually, but I'm not so close minded as to think that it's impossible for to fall for something else.
I'm a motion designer and I use adobe after effects pretty heavily in creating animations and promotional videos. For a while now I've noticed that work demands are going up (clients want 4K video instead of 1080p) but the system can't seem to keep up with it. It takes several seconds to render just a single 4K frame in a composition that is 60fps.
My current specs are in the OP image, how can I identify what needs improving and what can stay as is?
>>61517558
processor is shit
>>61517558
Your CPU is only 6 cores and really inefficient small cores at that. Your biggest upgrade would be to get a Ryzen CPU. The r7-1700 would do you fine. That and possibly getting 32GB of ram

Welp, there you go.
I'm looking to break free of the Google botnet and I'm embarrassed it took me this long to realize what I'm doing. Apparently I'm too dumb to install Chromium on my Mac and Windows machines. What are some good chrome alternatives for Mac and Windows? I looked around on the web and found Brave and Vivaldi, but I wanted your /g/uys' opinion on this subject matter. Thanks.
>>61517525
I don't know where else to go at this point. Each alternative has serious privacy issues.

I received a Lamy safari pen last Christmas but it has run out of ink a long while ago.
I want to start using it but the official cartridges are pretty expensive.
I mean, my first fountain pen (jinhao) + an extra 5 pack of ink is half the price of lamys refills.
are there any generic chinkshit inks or cheaper refillable cartridges and bottles of ink that are compatible with Lamy?
>>61517490
You could buy bottled ink and refill your Lamy cartridges with a syringe.
Since I moved to Japan I started using FriXion pens and they are amazing.
>>61517677
refill the disposable cartridges?
Hey /g/, just installed Linux Mint on my laptop. So far I've enjoyed it, and kinda like the sleek design. I still prefer windows, but I'm happy to explore Linux. What does /g/ think of Linux?

I'm new to Linux and want to try it out on my PC. How do I go about installing and which is the best to install, assuming there is a best?

>I'm new to Linux and want to try it out on my PC. How do I go about installing and which is the best to install, assuming there is a best?
You can download a live version that you can boot from a DVD or USB stick to try it out first. You can also get a Virtual Machine program like VirtualBox and installing it in a virtual machine. This allows you to start it up like a program on your current machine. This can allow you test stuff out before trying to install to current machine, which, if I'm not mistaken, requires re-partitioning the hard drive if you want keep your old OS.
>>61517309
Xubuntu or Ubuntu MATE are good for beginners. Very easy to install with desktops that are easy to use and very fast. Ubuntu is shit though and you should only use it as training wheels. Eventually you should learn to use Debian or Fedora for superior stability and comfyness.
What's some good anime that deal with technology/engineering/computers/games/other nerd stuff?
New to the genre.
what genre?
anime?
Are you saying that anime with computers in it counts as it's own category?

>Cloud-enabled Clipboard
>Clipboard functionality has not changed all that much in the past decade or so. This changes when the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is released, as Microsoft will release "Clipboard" with the operating system.
>Clipboard enables users to copy and paste between connected devices and device types. So, you could copy a link on your desktop PC, and open it on your mobile phone, or on other devices running Windows 10.
>This functionality is tied to the Microsoft Account. Microsoft customers may remind that of OneClip, a Microsoft Garage project that allowed you to copy and paste between devices and different operating systems.
Hope you enjoy Microsoft storing all your clipboard data indefinitely to serve up hot and fresh to advertisers and the CIA niggers. If you still use Windows you are the literal cuckolds of the computing world.
