Daily reminder that there is literally no reason to use Linux on a desktop. Linux is a server OS and anyone running Linux on their desktop is either 12 years old or an unemployed loser. It literally does nothing that Windows can't do better right out of the box. Enjoy your hobby OS, nerds!

I'm wanting to get into computing, but it seems as if I need to be good at everything to do this. I need to learn a shit load of maths, commands, operating systems, components, programming languages, networking, security, amongst other skills to feel like I'm even able to breach the surface.
How does /g/ cope with how daunting this work load is?

Everyone quickly pointed to me for starting everything, and I was banned from the computer lab for the rest of the year and I got an F in the generic "computing" elective class that I had so graciously chosen over another year of PE.

Hey /g/, I want to start learning C right away. I got Learn C The Hard Way in pdf. I'm not willing to switch to GNU/Linux again right now, so I want to stick to windows.
I think I'm ready to learn, but I still need to choose a compiler. I have Visual Studio 2013, but some /g/uy said to avoid using it. Can you guys recommend me a good compiler?

In your about:config look for "geo.enabled". Set it to FALSE. This disables your browser's geographical location. Test it out with Google Maps, if you want. It used to show my exact city. Now it says that I am somewhere in the United States. I don't even live in the United States. Feels good.
This does not prevent IP-based tracking, however, so keep that in mind.

If the above are true, why are OEMs who previously abandoned SD expansion on their phones (HTC, LLG, Motorola) have all recently went back to having them? Face it, SD cards are here to stay and there's nothing you can do about it, Google.
