I doubt people would be retarded enough to try to run their web browser as root, but people are fucking dumb so there's that.

Meatspace thread.

Discuss hacker spaces, excellent brick and mortar stores (I'm particularly interested in used parts stores in NYC), physical hacks, anything related to /g/ and leaving the house.

Pic related, Chaos Computer Club.

I don't have the skillz yet to justify it.

For personal reasons, he generally does not actively browse the web from his computer; rather, he uses wget and reads the fetched pages from his e-mail mailbox, claiming to limit direct access via browsers to a few sites such as his own or those related to his work with GNU and the FSF.

>"Our service may automatically delete a piece of data you upload or give someone else access to where it determines that that data is an exact duplicate of original data already on our service. In that case, you will access that original data."

What the actual fuck? Isn't all my data supposed to be private and encrypted in a way so that only I can know the contents of my uploads?

encrypt the files with PGP and they can't violate your privacy even if they tried
>>
>>42832990
it's still going to be encrypted you retard, it's just if there's a duplicate file with the same encrypted contents it'll delete the duplicate.
>>
>>42833054
That would mean they use the same encryption key for everyone. Then what's the point of encrypting it at all? Mega would know the decryption key, which is as good as law enforcement knowing it.

Cubicle with a shitty toshiba laptop, random Dell 24" monitor, and generic microsoft mouse and keyboard, and a VoIP Phone

>tfw you will never work at IBM on it's golden age

Lift up our proud and loyal voices,
Sing out in accents strong and true,
With hearts and hands to you devoted,
And inspiration ever new;
Your ties of friendship cannot sever,
Your glory time will never stem,
We will toast a name that lives forever,
Hail to the I.B.M.

Our voices swell in admiration;
Of T. J. Watson proudly sing;
He'll ever be our inspiration,
To him our voices loudly ring;
The I.B.M. will sing the praises,
Of him who brought us world acclaim,
As the volume of our chorus raises,
Hail to his honored name.

When I was using Allegro, I was able to create a frame-independant system, all while still going at 60fps by modifying this: https://wiki.allegro.cc/index.php?title=Using_Timers_in_Allegro_4

Now I have gone back to SDL (1.2, I want to see it run on wii and psp, SDL 2 isn't on those), the main reason why I left SDL is because I couldn't get a similar framerate system working.

Can someone show me a simple framerate system for SDL that will actively tell me the frames per second, and allow me to make a deltatime?

I converted lazyfoo's system to ANSI C: http://pastebin.com/Lfixw615 it does not work correctly as I expected. I did not paste everything in the pastebin, you should have enough to compile a game (give or take a few more lines of code).

Any help would be great.

>>42781350
do you have to post that in every thread?
>>
What do you guys use to edit shaders? Is there some kind of special editor/IDE with syntax highlighting or do you just use your IDE and some error checking to see what's going wrong?

Also, is there a better GLFW3 tutorial or is the one on the site the only one? I've figured out most of the basics but I pretty much always need to go back to the documentation to figure things out.

For 2D graphics SFML rips apart all other libraries.

If you're using anything other then SFML, you're doing it wrong.

Does anyone know the name of those jackets that block photographs? I think they're reflective or something and they ruin pictures... Not sure of a better way to explain it

Those things only work if flash is used, and even then with the super high sensitivity of sensors nowadays they could still pick out enough facial features if they saved the RAW picture.

>>42685912
They sell a transparent covering that can be put over a license plate for those cameras, either comes in spray form that is hard to notice for human eyes but causes a blur in cameras or you have the darker ones that are a transparent LCD panel that the driver can switch on to black out the plates when he knows he's in view of a camera.

And no your car would not be invisible to speed radars. Learn how aperture radar works if you want to beat them, it's an involved process.
