CPUs:
No i5 unless discounted
>G4560 - poverty-tier builds
>R3 1200 - Budget builds (<$500)
>R3 1300x - Good stop-gap between the 1500x and the 1200, only get a 1400 if you absolutely need multithreading
>R5 1500x - Good but up to 1600 if you can
>R5 1600 - Best value for higher fps gaming / mixed usage; 1600x if you want higher stock clocks
>R7/Used Xeon/Threadripper - Compute/Multitask/VM/mixed use; Not for just gaming
GPUs:
Coin miners have driven price up and stock down, waiting to buy a GPU might be wiser
>Integrated CPU Graphics - Desktop stuff and very light games
>GTX 1050(Ti) - Lower end budget cards, drop settings on newer games, RX560 beaten by both
>RX570 - 1080p@60~hz maxed, running most maxed older games at 100~Hz
>RX580 and GTX1060 6GB - 1080p@80hz maxed, 1440p@60hz at lower settings; RX580 better in newer games
>GTX 1070 - 1080p@130hz /1440p@60hz at high
>GTX 1080 - 1080p@144hz / 1440p@60hz maxed, 4k@60hz in a few games; Probably the highest end card you need for 1080p/1440p
>GTX 1080Ti - 1440p@144hz and 4k@60hz maxed/high in many games
>Vega soon.
RAM:
>Check your Mobo QVL before buying any RAM
>Ryzen CPUs benefits a lot from high speed RAM
General:
ALWAYS LOOK AT PRODUCT REVIEWS!
Always consider an SSD. Try buying a large SSD for what you'd pay for your SSD+HDD combined, and add a HDD later
NVMe SSDs aren't for a faster OS boot, they're for productivity/scratch disk/VMs. NVMe and M.2 are not the same thing, M.2 is a form factor.
The Ryzen lineup comes with surprisingly good stock coolers. consider using them over any <$30 cooler.

if you are looking for a good performance per dollar ratio get the Macho rev b, if you are looking for high performance get the big Phantek or Poo in Loo Noctuna

d/ic/k here.
I've made my first digital painting (pic related) and was happy to print it to a internet house with a domestic printer.
I was pretty dissapointed with the result, dunno why but the colors came washed out and with a really higher contrasts, some of my colors came pretty black.
I know it must be my fault for not preparing my picture to be printer friendly (cyan, yellow, magenta, something like that).
Any advice?
What printer should I buy that wont let me down.
Are laser printers better?

Draw Japanese Cartoons instead. Problem solved
>>61754910
That drawing seems familiar to me. Who is that supposed to be?
Yes. Learn about CMYK you dumb cunt. Not much else. And have a properly calibrated screen.
I bought an iphone 7 today.
Did I make a wise decision? I just realized the 7s is coming out soon...
I think my next phone will be iPhone.
Why?
Because you don't have to deal with shit like pic related. Also your phone doesn't come with bloat and actually gets updates.

Yeah, just have the apps do that without your knowledge.
What would you say is the "best bang for buck" PC right now?
Pic related is what I think.

The motherboard and ram choices are awful.
>>61754939
And I just realized, you chose liquid cooling for a pentium. Do you know what you're doing?
Is there a purpose for this form factor nowadays?
Obviously a decade ago it made sense when you wanted computing power and didn't want a huge machine, but seeing as what a phone / tablet can do (especially if you have external peripherals) and how small / light laptops are, is there a need for this?
Is the GPD pocket / Vaio P nostalgia just people wanting to ironic retro devices or is this an actual space that needs filling

Interesting thing I just found but can't figure out. If you look at OkCupid's page source (view-source:https://www.okcupid.com/home), the top has an ASCII picture of what looks to be a Macintosh, with:
WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLAY A GAME?
596d 6c30 4c6d 7835
4c7a 4a32 6258 5a45
5a6a 514b
written on the screen. I can't figure out what the numbers are, they're like a hash but none that I can find, except for a Bitcoin address - https://blockchain.info/address/596d6c304c6d78354c7a4a3262585a455a6a514b
Anyone else have any clue what this is?
>>61754602
If it is a hash, it looks like SHA-1 (40 chars).
If you convert the hex to ascii you get Yml0Lmx5LzJ2bXZEZjQK.
>>61754846
Base64 decode that ascii and you get a bitly link that takes you to quiz.okcupid.com/letsplayagame/
>looks to be a Macintosh
Nah bro, that's totally an HP.
Is this the future of the linux desktop?

It's actually the past drug kicking and screaming into the present.
I get the battery, but is the rest just the internals of a card reader with storage to save every card? What are the wires on the top left that don't lead to the battery?

>>61754167
Real men don't use screen protectors.
There is too much money being made by retarded cucks on the Internet. Buzzfeed, facebook, reddit, YouTube, this site, ect. Fuck all these retarded niggers. We need to basically burn internet ad culture to the ground and put ~80% of internet based businesses out of business leaving only the things people want to pay for and random people's passion projects.
Adnauseam is the best way to do this. I've been using it for a few month and according to it's builtin graphs I've costed advertisers nearly $4000.
https://anonimage.net/view/small/uq21CpUFoT.png
Just think about how much this could disrupt the ad industry if it had widespread adoption.

Good goy! Pay for the WD excluive SATA Cable for $30 each, if you buy 2 we'll give you an extra one 50% off!
My motherboard came with a bunch of those. But I also get them for free when buying drives at my local store, so maybe you should have asked for one.

Tell me why I should buy a Chromebook!
Or even why I shouldn't?

cheaper to get a thinkpad with better specs off ebay or the same price from newegg/amazon. But there's always the chance that it won't work while the new Chromebook probably will.
>>61754024
this is after owning both also. my chromebook was rslow but I put in a bit more cash adding an SSD and more ram to the thinkpad.
