Is it physically impossible to crimp these flat-style Ethernet cables?

The wiring in these flat cables I've tried are too thin for regular RJ45 plugs, but I can't find any special RJ45 plugs for flat cables. All I can find are reviews commenting they can't find plugs that work with these fucking flat cables.

I crimp standard round cat5e/6 cables all day at work, but this fucking flat cable is proving OP more retarded than usual.

there are special flat ends with flat crimpers meant to go with specific brands of flat cables
>>
>>61753264
Do you mean for untwisted flat data cables? Because that's the typical flat data cable.

All I can find are some overpriced brand name "flat" RJ45 plugs for nearly 1$ per fucking plug, with reviews saying the only flat plugs they can find on amazon don't work, which by deduction must be these overpriced plugs.

T420 with modern internal components while keeping the socketed replaceable processor and with a 2560x1600 IPS screen.
>>
>>61752157
This but in a TiBook chassis.

With my budget, I can consider up to t450, along with all p and s variants.

My priorities are:
Parts availability in 2-3 years + repairability; durability; compactness; technological relevance over the next 5 years

I like the idea of a t450, but I'm worried that the new [ultrabook] design paradigm will compromise on repairability and durability. Am i justified in thinking so?

Oh dang really? Was hoping that the t450 would allow it. I can easily get a t440p with a 4600M. What's the practical difference between a 4600M and a 4900MQ? Is a socketed cpu really necessary?

>want a non-botnet browser, naturally, I like my privacy
>...also like the analytics on my own data that using Google products enables me to have

I could download Iridium or ungoogled Chromium, but then I thought about it and realized, well, I kind of like the advances in technology and AI that are made possible directly by harvesting & curing a nice strong crop of user data.

In that way, it's sort of a moral imperative to offer up your data. Right?

Maybe not in a way that's dubiously stated in a shady TOS so you don't understand what is being collected and exactly how - admittedly, transparency would be paramount here. But in the ideal hypothetical case of the majority of a population being wise enough to care about their privacy...if everyone shut their doors in the face of companies that depend on those analytics to advance their platforms, by say using strictly non-botnet software only, wouldn't technological progress stagnate?

Is there a middleground? I guess it must depend on the philosophical underpinnings of *why* we should care about our privacy. Is there a concise but enlightening answer to that?

I'm genuinely curious.

I really do care about privacy and if it's easy and probably a good idea to switch to an objectively better browser, I'll do it.

But for right now, not only does Chrome tick the right boxes for me and Just Worksâ„¢, I'm wondering if the privacy concerns might actually be outweighed by the more utilitarian pursuit of innovation (at the risk of a cyberpunk apocalyptic 1984 societal meltdown, of course). And in either case, how to then justify 1. allowing yourself to be spied on to some extent, or 2. refusing to provide the raw materials for the development of potentially cool new stuffs.

Windows 7 was made with minimal telemetry from Vista and XP. Windows 10 was made with more extensive telemetry from 7 and 8.1

That would indicate telemetry is just as capable of resulting in terrible software (because of over-fitting the design to data) as it is of creating a better product.

im using Ubuntu 14.04 the backend for ncmpcpp is mpd. I'd like to configure the ncmpcpp visualizer to use multiple colors but when i add more than one (syntax is not an issue here i believe) my visualizer just becomes white. it works fine if i only spacify one color.

visualizer_color = "green,yellow,red"

Also tried it without quotation marks and with spaces after the commas

visualizer_color = COLORS
Comma separated list of colors to be used in music visualization.
syntax rules taken from http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/zesty/man1/ncmpcpp.1.html

here is my whole ncmpcpp config file

Just get a used model M

I have two, $40 total investment
>>
>>61750882
The pointing sticks on the Unicomps suck. I had a Model M13 which I broke when I spilled water on it. I replaced it with a Unicomp because the M13 was the only full black model and as a result had printed key caps rather than dye sub key caps. The first Unicomp I got had a broken pointing stick, the replacement they sent me did work although it moves to the upper right significantly slower than in the other directions.
>>
>>61750905
where did you find real model m's that cheap? all i see are $50 minimum.
