Why did horizontal "towers" die
>>61786100
I always preferred the horizontal configuration, I'm guessing it might have been due to the limited options for adding optical drives but I don't know.
>>61786100
They're called "laptops" now.

Bigger screen means no more space below.
My buddy got all these for free from work.
What do /g/
give them to children
Prepare a room in your basement to put them in, to either become a fortress of solitude, or a den of virginity, but probably both.
>>61785838
Ask your local library or school if they need them. Otherwise you may try to clean them and sell them.
otherwise

Is Solus the best beginner "just werkz" Linux distro for beginners?
I'd have to say yes from my experience since it's easy for Windows users to adjust to and looks great right after installation.
Is there anything better?
>Is there anything better?
no
solus is the best distro

why is the linux community so homophobic?
why are there so few results? what is keeping lgbt+ people from using and talking about linux? is it because the linux community is toxic and homophobic and highly oppressive?
why do no linux distros have .lgbt websites to attract lgbt+ involvment

Because Linux people dont give a shit about your mental illness, only code.

that's an easy software issue
typing ergonomics would be a larger gain, at least in some scenarios

When does the rift sale end?
>>61781323
August 21st I think? If you wanted to get one, nows the time. I bought one, it arrives Wednesday. I already recieved my extra sensor, tucked the extension cable underneath my rug, so it's hidden quite well. I ordered from best buy, so I got the 6 games + Eve Valkyrie with it.
To those who ordered from the sale - does it still come with the Xbone or 360 controller?
>>61781323
According to journalists, around the 21st this month. But there's no official word (yet). I'm thinking they're planning to announce the specific end date a week before.

Are these keyboards all interchangeable?
L430 T430 T430S X230 W530 T530
Asking because I want to order one from China and I've never owned a T series so I don't know if the seller is lying or not. That's a really excellent feature if true that you can take the keyboard from a T430/T530/W530 and drop it straight into an X230.
Arw is the new thinkpads not waterproof? I poured a basket of water over my t470 and it shut off and let out some of that blue smoke... funky smell. I tried turning it on and it wont come on. How to dry it?

I am 27 and I am scared to death of what I am gonna do once I hit 35. Ageism, unlike racism and sexism, is fucking REAL. In tech. Fucking employer niggers will always prefer code monkeys and kids to experienced programmers if they can do the same shit at a lower wage so they can sit on more profits/lower costs, fucking niggers. There are horror stories about very smart engineers looking for shitty jobs and can't even find any due to their age or the irrelevance of their expertise now in the industry
If you want to avoid ageism just keep up to date and stop using LISP you fucking dinosaur
>>61777290
Learn new shit. Make sure you're getting experience that's relevant outside your current workplace. Change jobs anyway every few years. If you wanna just sit back and not do that and claim you deserve employment because of seniority then you deserve the discrimination you get.
>>61777451
you don't get me, do you? you see less and less programmers above 35, where do they go? unlike almost all professions except in sports, programmers are considered too old once they get 35, it's fucking scary.
