What are some things i can do to improve my life? Feeling pretty down right now.
No girl is thinking about me. No one is thinking about me.
She's out there though, and one day i will find her bros, and so will you. We just gotta keep going no matter what, because it will get better, as long as you work towards reaching your goals. None of us came this far just to come this far. You are all going to make it, and so am i because i believe in it.
Did you clean your room?
Don't forget to set your clothes out tonight, anon. You know how tough it is to get you up in the morning.
Hey friend! You might be confused.
You are asking for advice. 4chan actually has an entire board just for this purpose, called Advice! Unfortunately, your aren't on Advice. Maybe you got mixed up because you come to Fit so often. That's understandable! But your topic doesn't belong here, because this board isn't your personal space.

I actually spend the entire day cleaning my flat, even my bathroom. Washed my clothes and did the dishes. Now everything is spotless. Feeling pretty good, just laying in bed knowing my surroundings are clean.

Ill try the twice a week shampoo thing.
Will it make my hair less dry?

yeah for sure baby, shampoo is brutal and conditioner is used to fix the damage.
Lets assume:
1. There is a place, principle, or reference point, from which we can set ourselves into and try to establish an order.
2. Nothing comes before this reference point, this is the one an only start.
3. What comes after couldn't be/exist without the previous item.
4. There exist different principles, meaning there's some that can be compared and we could say they are different.
Now I wish to give some ground to this by remembering what Plato said:
Plato describes a situation in which Socrates visits the house of one of his friends. His friend (whose name I forgot) was now reaching old age and couldn't properly walk. Later, after all the formal greetings and introductions, their conversation takes a quick turn when Socrates asks him: "Tell me friend, how is it that you feel now in your old age, unable to do some of the things you used to do when you were younger?".
"I am not indifferent towards my current condition" - he answers - "I'd even say that, now that I am free of the furious passions that harassed during my years, such as love, I am much happier. It is now that I realize I've left my burden behind and now I have whats essential".
Socrates then says: "Wouldn't you say it is due to your wealth that you are indifferent towards your current condition?"
"Could be" - "But I'd say otherwise. For there are men who, wealthier than me, cannot bear the pressures that come with old age. And there's those who, living of the streets, make the best out of their time and live the rest of what they got ignoring these troubles."
"What would you say it is, then?"
"Reason, Socrates. For a man who is reasonable will be able to cope with whatever comes by. But an unreasonable man, even if hes wealthy, will suffer what remains of his life, craving for those pleasures and advantages he had in his youth".

Think of our reference point as something that is in each character of man, naturally, each character is build upon the succession of this principle. And there's different types of characters (for it would contradict our original assumption 4).
Take assumption 3. We'll say that nothing that follows is disconnected from the principle, in other words, everything is a direct result of the beginning.
Plato defines to us different reference points by which men live by. Take, for example, the unreasonable man, who governs his soul (or whatever you wish to call it) by his impulses, and he argues that somebody who falls into this category will submit himself to that which is addictive, impulsive or bad and let it be above that which is good.
The reasonable man is, of course, the opposite.
Our main idea here is to establish that he who is a certain way (be reasonable, be unreasonable) will yield a different succession or character. And each character reacts a different way, as explained by our little story, to his outside but - most importantly - to what comes from within.
So there's a type which understand that there's no sunset without night, yet it is his very understanding which does not puts him down. And there's a type which is quickly to assume the following:
"Life is a perpetual state of happiness. And, if such a thing is not present, it is not life.'' - hence they invalidate anything that is not as they wish it is and they yield their natures to - not living - while being alive.
----
I wish to touch two things here.
That self improvement is baseless if it does not deal with the primary causes (or reference point). And that anything that is done, without treating the primary cause, won’t be ''improvement''. In other words: he who builds on fragile soil, might look in awe once the products of his construction are done. But will suffer a lot once he sees them crumble. Shame on him, for he did not dare look down on the muddy earth.

Second thing. Ask yourself why you are feeling down. And ask yourself if it is a sickness. Then determine if its a sickness that leads to death, or if its a sickness that needs time. Because you've established that the direct cure to it is "improvement", but what is improvement? and how did you reach that conclusion?
I'd say that "improvement" starts at the beginning. The process of knowing yourself and the reasons why you - do - what you do are valuable and you should pay them attention to them. Then, if you do decide to look into you, determine the sort of sickness you have, always remembering what a reasonable man would remember: there's good, and there's bad, so be it.

At this point /fit/ is becoming a general self-improvement board, which is probably for the best honestly.
