So I wanted to lift more tham my last recorded max on Deadlift today but just bumping up five pounds I couldn't even get the bar up. I decided to try a mixed grip and I picked it up like it wasn't even there. I retested and ended up putting 50 lbs on my max (325) and maybe could've gone a little heavier too but I didn't want to overdo it.
Is this shit okay to keep doing? Am I a filthy fucking cheater?

no, not really.
Dont let your grip strength limit your back strength.
>>40637979
Be careful, it can fuck your symmetry up if you d-d-diddly d-d-deadlift all the time.
>>40637979
no
and neither is using a belt
and straps are not either, but only if you use them when your grip is too fatigued to keep going

If it bothers you so much then just do some farmer's walks to improve your grip strength so you can continue with the overhand grip for your deadlifts. You'll be surprised how quickly your grip strength improves with that workout.
use hook grip you bitch
>cheating
Kill yourself, faggot

If you lift enough no one gives a fuck about your grip. My double overhand gave out at 365 and mixed is about to get me 405. Whenever that stops working I'll get chalk, and then straps if need be. Quit obsessing over how you hold the bar and focus more on picking t up you autist.

You'rea retard. You'll have to use mixed grip eventually if you plan on increasing weight constantly on dl

dis

just swap the mixed grip between hands...
>>40637979
I'm too scared of tearing a bicep/long term imbalances to use mixed grip. I just do double overhand and hook grip for heavy singles
>>40639899
>long term imbalance
swap hands......
after seeing that bicep tear compilation because of mixed grip I only use double overhand
>>40639926
whats the long term implications of a bicep tear?
cos scott mendleson did a pec tear but he's still benching big

>whats the long term implications of a bicep tear?
That it will tear again. It takes a certain kind of tendon to tear it with mixed grip but there's no way to tell that you have it except by tearing it.
> mfw I've been doing mixed grip the past 7 months without switching hands
this thread gave me the creeps, I'll switch hands right away.

Or get straps, lift even more.
