Used to lift at a non chain gym. Owner was awesome until some dropped dumbells, put their weight away, didn't wipe down the bench, or people in the weight section with cell phones. Watch him physical remove people several times for these infractions and shove them out the door. He would yell "Bally's is down the street fuckwad"

If you're a chill tallfag, that's cool, whatever, but chill dudes don't give a shit about other people, especially their height, so I'm not convinced. Living in Asia is nice because there's no tallfags, and the short dudes don't stand out that much so everyone just fucking lifts and shares plates when necessary, and no one is an asshole to anyone.

Op I used to hate over compensating manlets as well, in particular at my gym there is an older manlet that's probably about 5' 7" in his 40's that is actually pretty strong(3 plate bench, 3.5 plate squat for reps) that goes around talking to every attractive older female in the gym, I used to laugh in my head and say "manlets when will they learn" and assume his heavy lifts were his way of compensating his short stature. Yesterday I was deadlifting after doing squats over by where he was doing leg press and got 3 plates for 6 reps strong. Manlet says "You had another two reps easy man!", talked to him very briefly and it turns out he's actually a decent guy. Moral of the story is don't always judge a book by it's cover.

Its kind of funny in my gym the "manlets" all seem respectable. One competes in BB, others are chill powerlifting dwarves with beards who always will give advice and a spot. The group of people who do the whole invisible lats spread and mean mugs are the tall, white men who lift in my gym. They snarl at people and stare at you while doing a set. They constantly stare at there abs in the mirror lifting their shirts and what not. Its funny cuz most are skelly and think their shredded. They also lift baby weights.
