Who else is shooting for pure mass and strength over being shredded? I personally hate the look of abs, although I do have a lot of respect for people who stay sub <12%bf.

I think the way to pull this off is just to get strong as fuck. You have to really really push yourself in the gym. Never let yourself give up - if you're sure you're going to fail a set, you better actually try and fail rather than rerack it.

Any bearmode brothers want to share any tips?

Pic related is me, 115lbs of weakness at 5'9. I dropped 50+lbs through eating 600 calories a day. It's not hard to not eat.

Sounds like you just started lifting. You can be shredded and strong. Plus, naturally, the more fat you gain, the less return you get for your fat. Just by changing my routine, I was able to add over 30 lbs to take my bench from 225x5 to 255x5, deadlift from 365x5-410x5 and I don't squat. all while cutting from 200lbs to 185 lbs natty over a 3 month cut. If you want to find a reason to be fat and shit, fine. But don't think that it gives you an edge in the strength department.

i eat about 3800 - 4000 cal/d because i have a shitty manual labor job. i do eat relatively clean though.
i'm doing a 6 week bench program and a 8 week squat program alongside eachother.

I mean you're obviously more experienced than me but Andy Bolton's book (forgot name), Explode your deadlift,Juggernaut Manual for deadlift and this vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toG0XunIlQI really helped my deadlift I was stuck on 130 kg x1 for almost a month after pretty much reading these books and picking up some tips now can do 182.5 x 2 for three sets (Obviously after 3 months but still increasing by 2.5 kgs)

i don't really think programming is the reason my deadlift is bad. i just can't really push myself because as soon as i do my left hip gets agitated and it hurts like hell. apparently that's because my left leg is about 1.5cm longer than the right leg and that puts my hip joint at a compromized angle while deadlifting. i'm stretching and doing prehab stuff religiously but progress remains slow.

i'm 185cm. there are online calculators though where you can (approximately) check how much mass you can hold based on the size of your wrists and ankles. maybe give those a try.

and yeah, i have trouble doing oly lifts too. pendlay rows and rows in general are luckily fine though.

I did a PPL split for 6 months because I wanted to impress a girl. Got some gains but she turned me down.

Now I do SS and just want to get as strong as possible. Lifting for yourself and not to impress others is liberating.

This was always my goal. Day 1 my girlfriend told me she isn't into abs and gives zero fucks about my weight. So I figured I'd go fill on bear mode and do strongman. That being said she's the one who suggest I drop a weight class So I can start placing higher more often, so she understands the sport and doesn't care if I don't have abs so it's win win.

It's not that I don't have discipline, hell I've dropped a ton of weight since I first started this endeavor. I just don't want to. It's incredibly hard for me to drop weight, even on DNP doing car pull sessions would have me weezing but after a month I gained 2lbs. So i figured fuck it lol.

If anyone wants 1 diet tip for gaining weight I recommend 1lb of chop meat a day. Walmart sells 5lb logs. Mix 1lb with cheesy taco seasoning powder packet. and drain most of the fat out. Mix with milk and not water. It's fucking amazing and has bomb ass macros
