Belts make squats feel easy, not saying you'll lift much more but when I belt up I loose a lot of stress as bracing is easier and the whole experience feels easier.

That's about it, maybe it will make you weaker doing unbelted squats, maybe not?

Nobody on /fit/ can tell you, do some research, look at belts on powerlifting to win or something.

"heavy" squat day, having me do doubles with 80% of my starting 1RM, and they were pretty groovy. The heavier high bar work was wonky because apparently blocking the mirror throws me way the fuck off for some reason. The paused squats brought back the weird pain on the outermost head of both hamstrings, and I'm not quite sure why. I guess I need to roll them or something?

if you're worried your weight is too low to wear a belt:

You guys who've squatted in hightops, do you feel that they give more support, or more restricting compared to lowtops? Was thinking of getting a pair of wrestlingish shoes like these, ASICS Matflex or possibly SABOs. Since I transitioned to lowbar I've been exclusively squatting without shoes, I found that my squatshoes made me pitch forward. I still use them for highbar or frontsquats though. So I was looking to get something I could use for both squats and deadlifts. Or I guess I could just go lilliebridgemode, and use an old pair of adidas superstars. Cheers desu senpai
