I'm 6' (the assumption is you don't wear shoes when you measure your height, the same as you don't stand on a platform), and people constantly say I'd have to be at least 6'3", because one of my mates claims 6'1" even though he's around 5'10", which isn't even short. Height matters to a point. Be a normal height (5'8"-6'3") and you'll never have an issue with it. But you can be too tall the same as you can be too short, it's when you start getting outside what's a normal height for a human male that people have issues, and it works both ways.
