1.5 years on SS and other 3 days strength routines. Spent like half the time in the gym compared to splitters and I still look great. I'm also stronger than them.

I've been doing upper/lower for a while now 5 days a week and I'm loving it. But looking at this thread, I don't know if going on a 3 day strength program is going to get me bigger than something like an upper/lower based on higher sets and reps

Beginners should do a SS/SL type of routine unless they are already fairly strong.

The you move on to splits if that aligns with your goals. Hypertrophy isn't great if you can't put up decent weight (e.g. someone squatting 5x10 2pl8 v. someone squating 5x10 1pl8).
