This is what SS does to you.
Does /fit/ consider this aesthetically pleasing?
How come literally every person on SS lacks pecs but have great size on other muscles that get equal volume (ie. not quads)? Why do pecs require so much volume to grow? Are they like the calves of the upper body?
you got trolled. bro splits honestly get you bigger than shit like SS
not even trolling. more time to dedicate to each muscle group.
even an upper/lower or pushpull would have done you better
Yeah but SS gets you strong. I started lifting because I wanted to look good but started SS eventually because I realized I didn't have to look like a chad in order to get chicks and being strong feels great.
>not even trolling
He got a good chest, the problem is that his shoulders are pulled forward, either because he's flexing, standing poorly, or has weak rear delts/rhomboids, and tight front delts/pecs.
If he pulls his shoulders back, I'm sure his chest would come out much nicer
...if that was you only 3 months in you must be the manlet.
1.5 years on SS and other 3 days strength routines. Spent like half the time in the gym compared to splitters and I still look great. I'm also stronger than them.
I've been doing upper/lower for a while now 5 days a week and I'm loving it. But looking at this thread, I don't know if going on a 3 day strength program is going to get me bigger than something like an upper/lower based on higher sets and reps
Should I just do SS only? Pic related. Is me.
Cool mang. How long did that take???
Pic related is me 4 months into SS. Right pic was about two weeks ago.
I know I'm far from aesthetic, but given the SS memes, I think I'm headed in the right direction.
I mean that pic that was posted. People always post it as a critique my routine and it gets a ton of replies.
You dont even need to lift heavy weight to get big, i know a guy that literally benches 1/5 of what i do and his chest is massive. Mind you i bench 3 plates
Beginners should do a SS/SL type of routine unless they are already fairly strong.
The you move on to splits if that aligns with your goals. Hypertrophy isn't great if you can't put up decent weight (e.g. someone squatting 5x10 2pl8 v. someone squating 5x10 1pl8).
So if this routine is a meme, what should an intermediate lifter looking for aesthetics do? Preferably something with a split focus between strength and aesthetics, I get it isn't optional, but I'm not sure which way I want to go yet.
This is me with about 9 months of SS + more chest/arms/accessories, 6 of them were cutting hard at a big deficit.
Not exactly but I work my ass off when I lift I don't pussy-foot. I don't do any cardio routine or anything, I just watch what I eat (usually) and lift hard...it's nothing new man just protein and veggies and keep the calories low.
brosplit brah would look just as big if he were flexing the same, tbhfam
he also has a better chest, much bigger traps, and an infinitely better-developed back.
plus his legs aren't t-rex grossness.
Is 4 months fine before doing a different program? I've more than doubled all my lifts but now i'm starting to stagnate abit. I still want to do the big 3, i just want a different program.
I'm asking because for 9 months of SS I would think you'd slimmed down more, great progress for you though,8 want to feel stronger too. I have basically same stats as you from starter going on 1 month myself, I'm swimming 5 days a week though, trying to eat better as well
nice progress, when you stall, cut to 10-12% and lean bulk your way up with an upper/lower like candito intermediate
I also did SS, but was a skellington tho
Did you lean bulk from the get go? And how long did it take you to stall? I've been cutting since I started and it's getting harder to increase the weights. Can't wait to bulk so I can get dem numbers up.
What do you think of PHAT after SS?
