I'm currently doing SS, but I'm having really bad progress on the bench because of a delt/bicep/elbow injury.
I can currently only bench 35kg/75lbs for reps. ;_;
Yesterday I was warming up with just the bar and it hurt so much I downed a couple painkillers and took a 20min break before I continued with my workout.
I got this injury last December, so I took a 10 month break from lifting, and it still hurts.
What are some alternatives to the bench press so I don't become a chestlet?
Bump, coz I strained my pec too today
Idk, pretty much everything for chest is a variation of bench press.
Maybe inclined push ups and chest flyes?
You'd better see a doctor about your injury, maybe you broke something.
Have you guys tried press benching instead?

T-bar Press
Reverse-grip Bench Press
Close-grip Bench Press
Cable Crossovers
Pec Deck
Low Cable Flys
You're gonna have to try the exercises to see what doesn't hurt.
Just do pushups.
change to dips

I saw the doctor and got an x-ray back in February. He said it would get better after a few months, and it hasn't.
who /incline/ here?
haven't done a flat press in 6 months. feels great man

NANOMACHINES, SON!
>>35159475
>chest flyes
No can do.
>inclined push ups
Normal pushups hurt. Would this hurt too?
>>35159492
What?

>>35160059
Dips hurt.
>>35159501
Pushups hurt as well.
>>35161058
I've never in my life tried incline bench. Are you supposed to have tucked shoulders and arched back on the incline too? How different is it?
>>35161127
>Normal pushups hurt.
They ought to hurt if you never do them.
>>35161127
not that different. just feels better for me, hits the upper chest better, and my shoulders which are a weak spot
i use the same grip as i did with regular bench. ring finger on the 2nd ring from the middle of the bar. do whatever you gotta do to work the chest, yeah, tuck the shoulders. dont arch back though because that just turns it into a flat press
>>35161148
No they don't.
>>35161244
Well, you never go into what kind of pain.
If it's joint pain, that's just a part of learning how to recruit the right muscles. Do them closer to your sides.
If it has to do with the previous injury you might want to get it checked out.
Don't seen anyone here posting about floor pressing. Do those OP, and do them with your legs flat. Also pause at the bottom of your rep.

The memes Jack
>>35161430
this. wideass thickass back and a smaller chest is better than inflated chest and a sunken shrugged-back look because of weak lats
>>35161345
Wouldn't they hurt too? It looks to be essentially the same upper body movement as the regular bench press.
>>35159334
Looks like he became one with a galaxy print shirt.

>delt/bicep/elbow injury.
Maybe if you were more specific about your site of pain/injury we could help you.
>>35161039
Then go back to the doctor and say it didn't get better
If you have a serious medical problem your best bet isn't to change exercises but to find the cause/revalidate

The only people who wear this shit tier clothing are niggers.
And they literally know nothing about outer space.
