How can I fix?

shiggy

Stance too wide, they'll always come out like that unless you have insane posterior chain counterbalancing. Tighten you stance up, work on pistols for ankle flexibility, try to keep your shins straight squatting unweighted with a close stance too. Its a balance thing, honestly very hard to break parallel and keep the knees straight. Even skilled lifters are guilty of it on grinders
>>
>>35141090
physio

expensive but worth it
>>
>>35141312
Really? I'm just outside shoulder width apart... I'll try to vary my stance and see if anything works tonight
>>
bro you have to invest in better shoes. i had problems with my squat several months ago and when i stopped lifting in air maxes my squat shot up quick + less discomfort.

i recommend oly shoes but you can easily get away with chucks/pf flyers if you have a wider stance
>>
>>35140937
>tfw a shitskin in Nikes beats your PR by 10 pounds

What do you mean forward though?
>>
>>35141386
Like my knee is too bent forward ?

I posted a similar pic in this stance a few days ago and ppl would say "get lower, why is your knee so far forward, get new shoes"
>>
>>35141425
Your knee travel is not a problem. /fit/ is 90% scrawny teenagers who don't know what they're talking about and you should take everything you read here with a grain of salt.

You should get new shoes though. Depth could be better, but it's a legal squat.
>>
>>35141425
in High Bar squat your knee should go foward
>>
>>35140937
why do you need a spotter when there is bars right there?
>>
>>35141425
>"get new shoes"
they're right you stubborn mo'fucka.

anyways there's nothing wrong with your knee going forward... where else would they go?
>>
>>35141443
I heard heeled shoes work on more muscles or some shit when you squat t.bh
>>
>>35140937
Your ankles are caving, probably due to the soft sole in your nikes
>>
>>35140937
Your knees have to be somewhat forward. For me knees directly over the toes is perfect, let's me get the most out of my glutes and back. You look fine to be honest.
>>
>>35141425
there is no problem in your knees going foward, just dont let then pass your toe line too much
>>
>>35141493
I'm really bowlegged, just throwing that out there
>>
>>35140937
Nice watch faggot. Is this your third thread where you are the op picin three days?
Kill yourself
>>
>>35141459
I prefer the spotter to give me a little nudge up and help me complete my rep so i can safely rerack it rather than let 445 lbs crash on the bars by myself and look like an idiot stuck under the bar
>>
>>35141523
This will probably be my last one considering my form looks ok
>>
>>35141443
his knee travel is a problem though, his knees are inside his feet causing unneccessary torque on the sides of the knees, which aren't very resistant to this kind of torque --> knee pain

>>35140975
nice trole

>>35140937
So op you really need to invest in some new shoes first of all, if you really intend on monging it out on high bar you probs should get heeled shoes.

Your ankles have caved inwards, which very likely has caused your knees to also be inside your feet when viewed from above. Your knees should be pretty much in line with your toes.

Your knees also travel pretty far forward. An obvious problem with your squat is that you aren't sitting into the hole with your squat, but rather you are leaning forward and bringing your knees forward too like in low bar.

Your back, hand positioning, arm alignment with body, head position and symmetry all look really solid though. Just some really shaky foundations.

Your squat looks like the high bar and low bar squat had a baby but the baby was born with severe asperger syndrome. You just had to be pro life, didn't you?
>>
>>35141746
Th-thank you

I just rewatched the vid and my left ankle does cave in a bit
>>
>>35140937
bruvly, that perfect form you are after is unachievable. Dat luks gud, if you're really that worried you need to stretch and practice overhead squats.

by the way senpai, your hat is gay as shit, why the fuck do you need a gshock when liften? Get out of your lil guy mentality faggot, that's 445

I've had it since I went to the oilfields fresh out of high school cause I'm a dumb ass
>>
>>35141929
Werd muh nigga, IIgh IIght. Well, still you look pretty gay imhotbhfam... Put the bar higher on your neck and box squats + stretch. But seriously, keeping your knees where you're trying to get them isn't realistic unless you've been squatting since you were 5.
>>
>>35141929
Nice pic, would keep to show to future kids if I were person in picture
>>
>>35141964
Seems like we got us a bad mobility goblin.

> :^)
>>
>>35141118
you can go ass to grass safely, fucktard.
its when your knee goes forward of your midfoot, and especially your entire foot, that the tension shifts from your hips to your knees.

and that tension is expressed as a shearing force.

and your ligaments are taking the brunt of that shearing force.

you sit back when you squat, you don't let your knees slide forward.

depth is a non-issue, unless you find yourself unable to go deep without your knees sliding forward, which is usually indicative of a mobility issue.

there is no such thing as "too low" of a squat.
your glutes can literally be touching your heels, and not only is that NOT a bad thing, it is ideal (the bigger the ROM the more effective the exercise)
>>
>>35141090

Your form isn't terrible. But I know why you have knee pain. And it isn't b/c of your knees going too far FORWARD..... it's because they are collapsing inward. Look at your left foot, then google "valgus knee fault squat". Bad shit, it'll put your ACL at risk for damage. It's ok if your knees go somewhat forward, so long as they are tracking in line with your toes, and not collapsing inward.

also a very Clarence Christmas to you sir.

lolwut?
>>
>>35141964
>squatting properly is impossible
bullshit, i have been lifting for literally one month, and my knees barely go in front of my midfoot.
just do more stretching, familia
>>
>>35141118

His ankles are collapsing in. Going below parallel is dangerous if he can't maintain good form with his knees pushed out. You need to work on your ankle mobility OP.

Also this >>35141385. I have those exact same shoes and they suck for squatting. Good for running tho.

... dat feel when only lifting 1plate... nigger do you even?
>>
>>35140937
Forward knee travel is perfectly safe
>>
>>35142023

It's a problem if you ask the 130lb teenagers on /fit/... who are lifting experts because they read 'Starting Strength' once.

Or you could ask the people who front squat 500+ pounds for reps. Exhibit A:

Who are you going to listen to?
>>
>>35142019
Yikes... okay I feel like I control my ankles better with some stretching and better shoes
>>
>>35142013
>you sit back when you squat, you don't let your knees slide forward.

Literally do you even lift? Show me anyone known for their squat who appears to be worried about forward knee travel.
>>
>>35141980
Honestly, it's not natural to favor your backside (glutes/hams) over your front side (quads) when squatting. It takes a lot of training to develop dat form.
>>
>>35142137
I know that, and I also know that that is not an excuse. It really does take a long time to develop good form, but if you don't have the time to do that you could just stick to machines. You can get aesthetic without having to get too big or too serious about lifting.

>>35142079
Yeah bru lets compare lifts done during training to a max in comp :'D :'D baka desu senpai

Look at training log videos of world champions such as ilya ilin and dmitry klokov. Their form is nearly always perfect during training. If you were to ask people who squat 500+ pounds for reps (I squat 500 for 2 so you could ask me too), they would say form over weight if you aren't being a wuss. And I believe it is safe to say OP is not being a wuss.

this nigga... to serious about what? I guarantee your form is shit is your doing more than 3 plate, that is, compared to "perfect" form.
>>
>>35142226
you fucking retard. the whole sport is based on high bar fucking squats which require a ton of forward knee travel you fucktard
>>
>>35142305
Stay mad, stay jelly, any succesful man, gotta have a hater.

>>35142319
Retired oly lifters also have fucked knees, if you aren't going perform the snatch or the full clean you really aren't going to need to be able to make the knees travel that far forward. Stay safe, stay strong.

Btw I heard that the sport was based on the snatch and c&j, but that might have just been a rumor...
>>
>>35142389
keep spreading your bullshit anon, think about that, your actually hurting people with your bullshit.
>>
>>35142389
oh you are so smart i surrender you god of squats
>>
>>35142426
Thanks anon for understanding ^___^

>>35142422
Keep on believing that if you want. I will come visit the grave of your knees and weep. Maybe some day you can leave your internet ego behind and actually educate yourself.
>>
>>35142451
>"educate"

opinion dismissed, thanks for that.
>>
>>35142500
You're so very welcome. I hope that I may also one day welcome you to a place of knowing, I will be waiting for you and your rickety knees.
>>
>>35141425
Your form looks pretty good to me. If you're gething pain in your knees you could just try parallel, you're breaking parallel by quite a bit. Going deep is good if you can take it but everyone's body is different.
>>
>>35141929
>THE DOOR HANDLE IS AS LONG AS HIS FOREARM
>HIS HEAD DOESN'T EVEN GO ALL THE WAY OVER THE WINDOW
>KNEES ARE LESS THAN HALF AS TALL AS THE WHEEL

TURBO MANLET SPOTTED LMAO
>>
>>35142513
My "rickety" knees have been squatting for years. One of them is numb on the surface from eatting shit when I used to skate. You really have no idea what your talking about
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jz7NSj8wrYo

Do you even know what a pin squat is?
>>
its okay for knees to travel forward, but they are caving, which is a problem.
>>
>>35142550
It's a lifted truck senpai
>>
>>35142550
>Texan
>not jacking his truck up
>>
>>35142575
6 inch lift , 35" tires, 4 inch penis
>>
>>35142558
I do indeed know what a pin squat is, and a lot of other squat variations too to boot.

Understanding the biomechanics of the squat and learning the squat properly is much more important than learning a load of different exercises. Some variations may help teach a better normal high bar squat, but most of them do jack shit.

Learn the fundamentals of the squat first before trying to take on variations. Beginner's programming and technique learning is for you, go brush up your skills before talking like that again.
>>
>>35142569
manlet defense force quick on the scene as usual.

>>35142575
>texan

surprise surprise, he's a manlet who over compensates for his tiny penis AND tiny stature LMAO.
>>
>>35142640
>^^^ guy
>>
>>35142102
Layne Norton always blabs about his form being the way it is due to long femurs and him not wanting to have lots of knee travel. His squat isn't pretty at all but he moves a lot of weight.
