Impressing normies makes you a normi.

Any lift where you can use those extra large looking bumpers. Everything is a 45

It's not A T G or "ass to grass" as normies. Any Squat not isn't highbar, as low as physiologically possible for a yogi, and doesn't put massive amounts of shearing force on the knees is not a real Squat.

I can't even comprehend how weak you would have to be to struggle with the bar. I'm pretty sure you would stop being able to carry your bodyweight with your legs before that.

Watch this. Watch the whole thing, yes all 30 minutes of it. Stop it from time to time to practice what he's talking about. After the next time you squat, watch it again to see what you got right and what didn't quite click that you need to work on.

Also remember, you squat between your legs, which is not the same as just sticking your ass back.

Agreed. Made the switch to ATG in August. I just notice so much more benefit in daily sport then when I did low bar. Sprints, jumping, explosiveness. It has all improved just from ATG

>>35140282
Also pause squats at the bottom position is really fucking funny if people have never seen a proper ATG. So this one might answer OP's question. Did 275 lbs for a 3 second pause, which isn't that difficult for me anymore, some bro thought I was stuck. I just shot right back up. I've had people actually try and tell me what I'm doing is bad for my knees and lower back... even though my mobility is really good. The only thing I really tell them is "look up how Olympic Weightlifters squat". Usually works pretty well.

My gym is pretty bro tier so I don't fault them for their broscience. But no doubt in my mind, I've seen people use our ONE and ONLY power rack for assisted deadlifts, OHP, and yes... bicep curls, more than for squats.

Chalk is for when the bar is literally tearing bleeding wounds into your skin to the from sliding on it. This starts happening around 300KG. The guy you responded to simply hasn't got a strong enough grip and needs to do train that. For example by doing DLs with a raised bar and 20% more weight than your PB

Chalk is simply for grip. I can hit my deadlift max with no chalk, but i'll need it for 70kg snatches and sometimes for any clean work over 90kg, eapecially if im sweating.

1.That only happens with low weights, when you start lifting heavier water can't get into the contact path from the pressure. If you spray your car with a water hose there will still be dry patches where the wheels were.
2. You should still be able to literally dip your hands in oil and lift 80% of your PB. Because guess what? You're GRIPPING the bar. It won't magically go through your fingers. If you can't do this it's because your grip is too weak and your hands are opening

Yesterday I was at my uni gym with my gym bro (we usually lift at my home gym). We were doing diddly's in the power cage (fuck you, everyone else at my uni does it and there aren't any extra barbells. Enough just for each bench and power cage). Everyone around was doing abiut 1pl8 deads, the guy next to us was slamming 2pl8's as if he was tough shit lel
I decided to work up from 1pl8, 2pl8 and then 3pl8 for sets of 5. About ~5 or 7 people literally stopped their work out to just watch me. I worked up to 4pl8's for 2.

I also squatted 3pl8 for sets of 5 and ohp 1 for 3x5 and everyone acted as if they've never seen anyone pushing this weight around. I barely go to my uni gym but people mire. If people squat they have running shoes, never go parallel and have shit bar position, bad form for almost every exercise.

Literally hit 1/2/3/4 at the gym and normie's will be baffled

For me, this starts at 160kg.

Anything can cause a painful callus on my hands. I've had bleeding, ripped hands from throwing has with a pitch fork for 6 hours.
I've ripped up my hands with a shovel, 40 minutes in.

I've had ripped up calluses on my fingers from doing less than 50 pull ups during a morning workout.

Some people actually have morning baby-hands all day.

No you don't "need" it because at the weights we're talking it's better to just train your grip instead. This makes you better trained all around and benefits you in pretty much every exercise and real life. The only reason your wouldn't is because you care more about numbers than actual training
You don't need to put your knees down to do 100 pushups, you just need stronger pecs.

Oh so that's you (using chalk) but you can't post a picture of yourself?

All chalk does is dry your sweat. If you can't hold it, you can't hold it.

Okay dude, you can not use chalk and judge people for using chalk and I'll just chalk up whenever I want and get stronger.

Sure, but you won't get stronger as fast as without, unless you're already way past 200kg. You can keep doing pushups on your knees and crosfit pullups and get stronger too.

Me too. Although it depends. People who don't work out at all don't really have a concept of 100 vs 200 vs 300KG, more than "wow that's really heavy". The guys going once now and again and still DLing 80 is gonna thing you're bullshiting

Lol, I do this too. My friend asked how much I could bench and didn't believe me when I said 265 lbs. To normies anything above 200 lbs is roid territory.

Do you/anyone know if this the case in the US too? Where you got sports and school so interconnected. I know 265 is definitely not freakish even for highschoolers in american football.
