Hey /fit/, I was wondering if you guys could help me.

What guidelines and basic workout plans would you recommend to get the body of an MMA fighter?

I'm talking big guys like pic related. With my genetics, I know I won't get the size, but I really dig the SHAPE of the body (thick but defined core, defined limbs, huge shoulders). St. Pierre is another one.

Bonus question: Is the Titan Eren/Yushin Okami physique too hard to obtain?

I do, but we don't do any extensive physical training. It's just a standard 20 minutes warmup (pushups, bodyweight squats and such) and then it's technical work.

I know it should work... if we trained for more than 2 hours, three times a week.

allright then. I don't know specific mma training excersices to get that physique, despite practicing a couple of years myself.

Maybe ask your coach? if he trains some fighters for competitions he might as well be able to point you in the right direction

I tried asking my coach, but he's not exactly specific. He just said things like "Oh, you know, jogging and calisthenics".

I should note that I'm not looking only at MMA specific training. Any workout, be it weightlifting or w/e that gives me that physique is ok.

Maybe calisthenics isn't a bad pick though. Not only calisthenics, of course. But for example, I added in my routine some core progressions that will end up in dragon flags and let me tell you these kill me. Maybe looking into those may result in something usefull for you

Mind writing up those core progressions? I'll try looking at it. I'm currently doing a full-body workout 3 times a week to get back in shape (I'm currently slightly better than average)

Yeah man.

I'm doing a full body workout 3 times a week too, so my core already gets pretty worked with ohps, squats and DLs.

After I finish my main lifts I do calisthenics.

I started with planks, and built up to 2 min planks, 3 sets. After that I used the ab wheel rollout and tried doing 3x8 rollouts. Between these I also did some leg lifts planks. Now i'm trying to get the dragon flag form down but it's pretty hard. Im closer to do it than when I started tho, I couldn't even get into position.

For you maybe the rollouts are a bit harder than the leg lifts planks, adjust accordingly.

I could only once hold one for 8 secs. My core burned like 5 minutes straight after that and the doms were killer.
