http://mentalfloss.com/article/62991/1960s-high-school-gym-class-would-ruin-you
Why the fuck is this program not mandatory for all schools all over the world? or at least something similar. The entire world would benefit from something like this
All of this is nice, but it won't make any differences considering how ubiquitous cheap food is.
People need to learn to eat less, end of story.
They're taking one high school class out of proportion to make some silly point.

One would of course teach the students the importance of a healthy diet and also how to make a healty diet cheap, so you dont get the "Muh expensive salad"
>>35004073
holy fuck this picture makes me realise how much the USA has degenerated
>>35004140
>degenerated
>they're all skeletons
Unless of course you're talking about how white the picture was, then pls go we pc here brah
>>35004154
Well, atleast they arent fat. And they arent true skeletors, they are bretty strong if you care to watch the video
>>35004094
This. People just won't stop eating despite not being hungry anymore and they wonder why they're pudgy.
>>35004154
>skeletons
Heavy lifting isn't good for your body/growth plates and shit at that age. High reps/low weight/endurance training really is the best for them.
They are definitely in better shape than todays youth
>>35004073
Interesting, but so many groups would be "offended" by the mere proposal of a program like this. This isnĀ“t an American thing. Most countries in the world would have parents complaining that their precious little children have a special condition, or they are already healthy, or some other crap.
>>35004127
but cheap foods get subsidized. the salad argument is invalid.
the only valid argument is people eating less.
>>35004073
>navy blue rank
>34 pull-ups dead hang
>5 mile run with a man on your back
God damn. It would be cool if gym classes in the US did this for non sports participating kids.
They had a fitness test at chaminade that if you failed, put you into a special gym class with a special diet at the cafeteria to make you more physically fit and less obese.
However there has to be a little leeway for athletes, especially football linemen. A mile run test and body weight exercises should be counted definitely.
Football players and other sport athletes should have their own tests and gym classes that pertain to their sports.
>>35004073
because exercise promotes test, test promotes healthy males, when healthy males see a problem they try to do something about it, and the powers that be don't want people to do anything about the mass corruption and injustic

Hi /pol/, We really should make a /fitpol/ general
>>35004609
>i dont like what you have to say, so im going to ignore it and call you pol
better let those refugees in and hope some of them arent terrorists
>>35004609
>/fitpol/ general
>nobody posts pics because they know they will be laughed into oblivion if they do
>>35004532
>34 pull-ups dead hang
Fuck, that IS tough.
>>35004754
A thread for discussion of physical health and its politics. Somewhat like fathate, more nuanced.
>>35004856
fathate threads are made by mongoloid newcomers who did not understand fatpeoplestories threads and decided to just run with it. Just how faggot newcomers to /b/ circa 2005-2006 didn't know (fucking really?) that jew/nigger jokes were just that, jokes.
Idiots are the cancer.
>>35004073
That pic is really spooky
>>35004532
>34 pull-ups dead hang
How and where is the fuck is 34 pull-ups dead hang standard?
The shorts as an indicator of level is an interesting idea. Of course this runs completely opposite to the everyone is a winner mentality we grew up with in school, but things tlike that make a big difference.
>>35004532
>34 pull-ups dead hang
>5 mile run while dragging around your own body weight
Are they training to be Spartans or some shit?
This video was just a fucking cold war propoganda video, we had this thread on fit a few months back.
The people in the vid dont even look like highschoolers
>>35004532
Do you really think athletes, football players especially don't have fitness tests and specialized training sessions? It's called practice m8
>>35005275
No because he has mental illness and those standards don't exist.
>>35005235
34 pull-ups isn't a standard anywhere not even in military special forces.
>>35005285
It also looks a lot like proto crossfit
>>35004890
no, it's a reaction to the HAES mentality taking over the media
>>35004532
34 pullups at 200lbs would be an extremely outstanding feat.
Most of the guys in OP do look more like 135lbs though.
I trained with a guy at that weight before who could easily do 20 and basically only stopped because he got bored.
Then he tried to do weighted pullups with 45lbs and barely got 10 reps
