How do you make muscle soreness go away? It's been 3 days and it hurts to move.
lift for more than two weeks
If it's DOMS (usually recognizable by the combination of stiffness and dull constant soreness) then massage (self massage works) and some of the hair of the dog that bit you (exercise again, it can really help).
Anti-inflammatories (Naproxen sodium/Aleve works best for me) can also dull the pain, but inflammation is part of the healing process, so don't take it unless you need to (like right before you're gonna work out again)
If it's something a little more serious, like a sprain, resting the muscle or tendon is most important. You may seriously look into getting a bandage of some kind to immobilize the joint the muscle in question works around.

I guess it's DOMS then. I've been trying to get fit after living a sedentary lifestyle for about 2 years. The soreness has been affecting my performance. I'll just power through it i guess.
Lift through it, but don't injure yourself.
